The invention relates to an electrical work apparatus including an apparatus housing having an electric motor for driving a work tool, a control unit for putting the electric motor into operation, a handle housing having at least one handle for guiding the work apparatus, and a receiving cavity, realized in the handle housing, having an insertion opening for a battery pack for operating the electric motor. For the purpose of decoupling the battery pack in respect of vibration, the handle housing, together with the receiving cavity for the battery pack, is decoupled from the apparatus housing via one and the same antivibration element. A vibration gap is realized between the apparatus housing and the handle housing, wherein the antivibration element at least partly bridges the vibration gap.

The invention relates to a method for adapting the composition of a mixture of fuel and combustion air. The mixture is supplied to a combustion chamber of a mixture-lubricated combustion engine in a work apparatus. The fuel is supplied to the combustion engine via a controlled fuel valve. In an operating state (I) of the combustion engine, the quantity of fuel is metered by the fuel valve. For the purpose of adapting the composition of the mixture, the combustion engine is shifted into a special operating state (II) which differs from the normal operating state (I). After starting, the combustion engine is operated in a first rotational speed range (B) for a prespecified operating time (T), wherein, after the prespecified operating time (T) has elapsed, the operating state (II) for adapting the composition of the mixture is initiated by a prespecified user action.

Method for adapting the composition of a mixture of fuel and combustion air

A handheld work apparatus has an electric motor and a voltage source for operating the motor. A manual actuation element provided on a handle of the apparatus is operated by a user and is provided for activating the motor. The actuation element is connected to a control unit which controls the energy supply from the source to the motor as a function of an operating signal of the actuation element. If the control unit is in a blocking state, the energy supply to the motor is blocked independently of the operating signal of the actuation element. After receiving a control signal, the control unit switches from the blocking state to a standby state to release an energy supply to the motor. The control signal is derived from a combination of an actuation stroke and an actuation time (&#x394;T) of the actuation element. A method for activating the apparatus is also disclosed.

A hand-guided power tool has a support arm and a tool member supported on the support arm. A drive motor is provided and a drive belt is rotatably driven by the drive motor and drives in turn the tool member. The support arm has a belt chamber in which the drive belt is arranged. The belt chamber is closed off relative to the environment and sealed off relative to the environment.

In an arrangement of a power tool and a carrying system, the carrying system has a support strap and a releasable fastening device for attaching the power tool to the support strap. The carrying system has an actuating device that actuates the releasable fastening device from a fastening position into a release position. The fastening device has a pivotable hook that in the fastening position is hooked to an eye and secures the power tool on the carrying system. When the carrying system is arranged on a user and the power tool is secured on the carrying system and the fastening device is actuated from the fastening position into the release position, the hook is pivoted such that the eye slides out of the hook because of the weight of the power tool.

Arrangement of power tool and carrying system

An internal combustion engine having an intake channel that is divided by a partition into an air duct and a mixture duct. The partition has a connecting opening that at least at full throttle of the internal combustion engine is substantially closed. A main fuel opening opens out into the mixture duct. At least one further fuel opening is provided that opens out into the mixture duct at a first distance relative to the wall of the intake channel and at a second distance relative to the partition.

A cylinder for a two-stroke engine has a cylinder wall defining a cylinder interior. A cylinder head closes of a combustion chamber in the cylinder interior. An exhaust is connected to the cylinder interior. At least one transfer passage having a transfer port opens into the cylinder interior. The at least one transfer passage is disposed in the cylinder wall for connecting a crank case of the two-stroke engine to the combustion chamber. The at least one transfer passage has at the level of the transfer port at least one flow deflecting rib having a radial spacing from the transfer port in a radial outward direction relative to a longitudinal cylinder axis.

Cylinder for a two stroke engine

A two-stroke engine includes an air channel for supplying substantially fuel-free combustion air and a mixture channel for supplying an air/fuel mixture. The air channel and the mixture channel connect the cylinder of the two-stroke engine to an air filter. A section of the mixture channel and a section of the air channel are guided in a common component. In order to prevent induction of mixture into the air channel, the length (a) of the mixture channel and the length (b) of the air channel are so matched to each other that the pressure wave in the air channel, which forms during operation, oscillates in phase with the pressure wave formed in the mixture channel. The length (a) of the mixture channel is matched to an optimal fuel induction via the fuel opening. A method for tuning the two-stroke engine provides that the length (a) of the mixture channel is matched to an optimal fuel discharge from the fuel opening in a first step and, in a second step, the length (b) of the air channel is so matched to the length (a) of the mixture channel that the pressure wave in the air channel and the pressure wave in the mixture channel oscillate in phase during operation of the two-stroke engine.

A cylinder for an internal combustion engine of a manually guided implement, and a method of producing such a cylinder, are provided. A cast cylinder body that peripherally delineates a cylinder chamber has formed therein at least one transfer channel that is open inwardly into the cylinder chamber and includes a central portion, extending approximately parallel to the cylinder axis, and a head portion that above the central portion faces in the direction of the cylinder chamber. A cylindrical sleeve covers the central portion of the transfer channel inwardly in the direction of the chamber. The sleeve extends in the direction of the cylinder axis beyond the central portion and ends below the head portion.

An exhaust-gas muffler includes a muffler housing () having an inlet opening () and an outlet (). The exhaust-gas muffler is especially for the internal combustion engine in a portable handheld work apparatus. At least one attenuating space (&#x2033;) is configured in the exhaust-gas muffler (). The exhaust-gas muffler () includes at least one resonance pipe () to increase power and to reduce the hydrocarbon emissions. The resonance pipe () is fluidly connected to the inlet opening () and the resonance pipe leads to a backflow of exhaust gases into the combustion chamber (). For a simple manufacture, it is provided that the exhaust-gas muffler () includes lower and upper half shells () via which the resonance pipe () is at least partially delimited.

An intake arrangement for an internal combustion engine includes an intake channel () which connects the clean side () of an air filter () to the engine. The intake channel () is subdivided by a partition wall () into an air channel () and a mixture channel (). A throttle flap is mounted in the intake channel (). A fuel opening () for supplying fuel opens into the mixture channel (). In order to avoid a throw back of fuel from the mixture channel () into the air channel (), it is provided that the clean side () of the air filter () is divided into two chambers (and) and the mixture channel () opens into the first chamber () and the air channel () opens into the second chamber ().

A tool head of a trimmer is provided, and has a gear mechanism housing and a rotatably drivable tool shaft that is mounted in the housing. Held upon the tool shaft is a hub portion that rotates with the tool shaft. On that side that faces the hub portion, the tool head is provided with at least one stripping edge, which has a radial component that extends from the inside to the outside, and which projects beyond the contour of the hub portion.
