A wind turbine blade includes a plurality of add-on elements, which are arranged on an outer surface of the blade, wherein the plurality of add-on elements includes at least one flexible add-on element and at least one stiff add-on element of the same add-on element type, wherein the flexible add-on element is made at least predominantly of an elastic material and the stiff add-on element are made at least predominantly of a stiff material, which is stiffer than the elastic material, wherein the flexible add-on element and the stiff add-on element are arranged offset in span-wise direction and/or in chord-wise direction of the blade.

A handling arrangement for handling a wind turbine rotor blade includes a frame assembly realized to fit about the airfoil of the rotor blade; a number of add-on covers arranged to fit between the frame assembly and the airfoil surface, wherein an add-on cover is shaped to fit around a number of add-ons; and a load-bearing material for filling the add-on cover when the add-on cover is pressed against the rotor blade. A method of handling a wind turbine rotor blade is also provided.

An apparatus for generating a flow of reactive gas for decontaminating a material, surface or area, comprises a first electrode member comprising a first plurality of conductive surfaces and a second electrode member comprising a second plurality of conductive surfaces. The second electrode member is arranged in spaced relationship with the first electrode member to define a reactor channel. The conductive surfaces are exposed to the reactor channel so as to form air gaps between the first plurality of conductive surfaces and the second plurality of conductive surfaces. An air blower generates a flow of air through the reactor channel. An electric pulse generator repetitively generates voltage pulses between the first and second electrode members so as to produce glow discharges in the air gaps between the conductive surfaces of the first plurality and the conductive surfaces of the second plurality, the voltage pulses being generated at time intervals less than 1 millisecond and voltage pulse duration less than about 500 ns, the glow discharges being adapted to transform part of the flow of air into reactive gas. An output section delivers the reactive gas from the reactor channel to a sample or region to be decontaminated or treated.

Apparatus and methods for generating reactive gas with glow discharges

An apparatus for generating a flow of reactive gas for decontaminating a material, surface or area, which comprises a first electrode member comprising a first conductive sheet and a first plurality of conductive pins protruding from a surface of the first conductive sheet and a second electrode member comprising a second conductive sheet and a second plurality of conductive pins protruding from a surface of the second conductive sheet. The second electrode member is arranged in spaced relationship with the first electrode member to define a reactor channel between the first conductive sheet and the second conductive sheet The first plurality of conductive pins protrude within the reactor channel towards the second conductive sheet and the second plurality of conductive pins protrude within the reactor channel towards the first conductive sheet so as to form air gaps between the first plurality of conductive pins and the second plurality of conductive pins. An air blower generates a flow of air through the reactor channel. An electric pulse generator repetitively generates voltage pulses between the first and second electrode members so as to produce glow discharges in the air gaps between the conductive pins of the first plurality and the conductive pins of the second plurality, the voltage pulses being generated at a pulse repetition frequency greater than about 1 kHz and voltage pulse duration less than about 100 ns, the glow discharges being adapted to transform part of the flow of air into reactive gas. An output section delivers the reactive gas from the reactor channel to a sample or region to be decontaminated.
