A cutting apparatus for use in an underwater pelletizer that has a nozzle head having a cutting surface that is rotationally symmetrical about a center axis of the nozzle head and in which nozzle openings are formed, has a drive shaft and at least one cutting head having cutting blades for cutting off melted plastic material exiting nozzle openings of a nozzle head and formed in strand shape, in the form of pellets, wherein the cutting head has a mechanism so the cutting blades can be simultaneously adjusted relative to the cutting surface.

Underwater pelletizer

A cutting chamber housing for an underwater pelletizer having an inlet for cooling fluid and an outlet for cooling fluid with pellets. The cutting chamber housing encloses a cutting device having a rotary drive and a cutting head with rotating cutting knives. An extrusion head having a perforated plate projects into the cutting chamber housing. The cutting chamber housing has a stationary upper housing half and a movable lower housing half along a separation plane arranged at an oblique angle so that the cutting chamber housing can be opened at least downwards along the separation plane. Features such as slide rails, swivel joints, or rotary joints can be added to enable easy opening of the cutting chamber housing.

A tire layer application assembly and a method for applying a tire layer around a substantially circular circumferential surface of an object. The assembly is provided with a drive which, during application, is coupled to the object for driving the object in a driven rotation about a concentric axis of rotation with respect to the circumferential surface, wherein the assembly includes a tracking device which, during application, is arranged to be fixed to a part of the tire layer that is applied to the circumferential surface, wherein the tracking device is rotatable in a tracking rotation about the axis of rotation of the object, independent of the driven rotation of the object about the same axis of rotation.

Tyre layer application assembly and method

The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for the preparation of a crosslinkable rubber mixture for vehicle tires, lines, drive belts and other industrial rubber articles, which can be carried out at least semicontinuously. The present invention is based on the discovery that the experiments known from the prior art to carry out the batchwise process usually used at least partly continuously have failed in particular because of the problem that the crosslinking agents have to be mixed rapidly and homogeneously with the base mixture, also referred to as rubber base mixture, without the mixture consisting of the base mixture and the crosslinking agents heating up too strongly. According to the invention, attention was therefore focussed on reliably mixing the base mixture homogeneously with the crosslinking agents and minimizing the mixing time. A first measure for achieving the desired aim consists in first mixing the crosslinking agents with one another before they are mixed with the base mixture. The mixture of crosslinking agents is in particular first packed in a container which is used for feeding the crosslinking agents into a base mixture.

Extruder arrangement

An extrusion apparatus is provided having an extrusion worm with a threaded exterior passage and rotatably driven by a drive shaft operatively couplable with a drive motor for driving rotation of the drive shaft. A feed in device feeds to the extrusion apparatus material that is to be extruded. The extrusion device includes a socket having a threaded interior passage, the socket receiving therein the extrusion worm in at least partial axial overlap such that material to be extruded passes between and in contact with the threaded exterior passage of the extrusion worm and with the threaded interior passage of the socket. The rate of rotation of the socket and the rate of rotation of the extrusion worm are independently adjustable relative to one another.

A tread band applicator device is provided for building a tread band on a tire carcass and includes a press applicator head for applying a tread band raw material mass onto the tire carcass as the tire carcass is rotated. The press applicator head is movable along the direction of the axis of rotation of the tire carcass in correspondence with the curvature of the outer surface of the tire carcass and is operable to apply the tread band raw material in a width which is less than the width of the tire carcass. The press applicator head is a component of an extruder which is mounted for movement about a plurality of axes.

An apparatus for applying tread material onto a tire is provided and applies uncured tread material to the carcass of a tire having a tread surface and a flank. The apparatus includes an extruder for extruding a selected one of a rubber and a synthetic material mixture and a first applicator device orientable toward the tread surface of the carcass. The apparatus also includes a second applicator device disposed adjacent the first applicator device and orientable toward the flank of the carcass. The apparatus further includes an extrusion nozzle extending between the first applicator device and the second applicator device for passage therethrough of the mixture extruded by the extruder.

Apparatus for applying tread material onto a tire

A transmission for driving a swivel joint between two elements which are rotatable relative to each other. Cam disks are moved by means of a multiple eccentric, each such cam disk having an outer edge in the form of a closed cycloidal path and being arranged so that it can be rolled off in a central wheel in a positive engagement with a gearing formed by pins or the like. A driving element engages by means of driving pins, with the cam disks by way of bores arranged being in it, the driving element being subdivided into two driving disks which, are spaced from one another and from the cam disks at a distance of at least the central wheel and are combined by means of the driving pins, the driving disks and the central wheel being rotatably movable relative to one another.
