A brake system is provided for a trailer vehicle having a plurality of axles, each of which has a wheel end on a respective side of the vehicle, the brake system including first and second pneumatic circuits for supplying air pressure to brake devices at the wheel ends. The system includes a spring brake modulator valve arrangement adapted to control pressure to spring brakes on the vehicle, which modulator valve arrangement receives an input from at least one of the pneumatic circuits and a control pressure from the trailer brake module. Flow of air to the brakes is controllable either by the trailer brake module or by the spring brake modulator valve arrangement to provide redundancy.

Trailer braking system

A brake system for a trailer has first and second pneumatic circuits for supplying air pressure to the wheel ends on the trailer. The air pressure to brake devices at the wheel ends is controllable via a first brake ECU. First and second pressure control valves control pressure from the pneumatic circuits to the respective wheel ends. The system further has a second ECU adapted to electrically control the actuation of the pressure control valves.

Method for stabilizing a tractor vehicle-trailer combination during travel

A brake system for a vehicle includes a first brake device for braking a first wheel of the vehicle, a second brake device for braking a second wheel of the vehicle, a first brake pedal which is paired with the first wheel, a second brake pedal which is paired with the second wheel, a brake control valve which is designed to act on the first brake device and/or the second brake device, a first control valve for controlling a brake pressure in the first brake device, and a second control valve for controlling a brake pressure in the second brake device. The brake system further has an electromechanical switching module in order to block or at least reduce a braking effect of the second brake device while the first brake pedal is being actuated, and the switching module is designed to block or at least reduce a braking effect of the first brake device while the second brake pedal is being actuated.

Brake system for a vehicle, and method for operating a brake system for a vehicle

A method/device for controlling a traction vehicle-trailer brake device, a trailer with an unactivated service brake is detected, and when a predetermined pushing effect is reached/exceeded a trailer brake system is activated to generate a braking force when the service brake is unactivated, in which the first parameter is a) consumption of an operating medium, and/or b) torque generated by a drive machine/driven wheel, and/or c) signal representing the traction vehicle/trailer's longitudinal deceleration, and/or d) the speed/acceleration at which an activation element is activated toward lower velocities, and/or e) a difference/quotient of a target traction vehicle speed, and an actual traction vehicle speed is used if the traction vehicle having an infinitely variable transmission, and provides infinitely variable adjustment of the transmission ratio, and f) the control device detects that the predetermined pushing effect of the trailer is reached/exceeded if a first parameter predetermined limiting value is reached/exceeded.
