A food processing machine includes a plurality of tool parts which are exchangeable and which each comprise at least one electronic data storage in which a tool identification is stored for identifying the respective tool parts, and a controlling system for reading the tool identifications. The controlling system is configured to determine, based on the tool identification read by it from the at least one data storage of an exchangeable tool part installed at the food processing machine, processes basically implementable with this tool part which are possible for an operation of the tool part, and to determine an intersection of detailed processes by a comparison of these processes with processes basically performable by the food processing machine based on machine equipment employed for the tool part and firmly installed in the food processing machine, by which the tool part can be controlled by the machine equipment provided for it.

The disclosure relates to a deep-drawing packaging machine comprising, in a direction of production, a forming station for producing trays in a film web, a loading stretch for filling the trays with a product, a sealing device for sealing the trays with a top film, as well as a cutting device for separating finished packagings. The sealing device comprises a first sealing tool for a first sealing cycle and a second sealing tool for a second sealing cycle. The first sealing tool comprises at least one first pair of impulse sealing bars oriented in a first orientation relative to the direction of production for producing first sealing seam sections, and the second sealing tool comprises at least one second pair of impulse sealing bars oriented in a second orientation relative to the direction of production for producing second sealing seam sections.

A method for operating a sealing station of a packaging machine, wherein the method may include one or more of the following steps: filling a packing volume of a package with a gas to create a desired atmosphere to a preset gassing target pressure for a finished package, wherein the packaging volume may be defined by a lower and an upper packaging material; discharging a partial amount of the gas introduced into the packaging volume from the packaging volume into a collection volume while retaining the packaging volume generated by the preceding filling, which reduces the pressure within the packaging volume; and reducing the packaging volume by moving the upper packaging material to an end position that corresponds to a desired appearance such that the pressure inside the package increases again to near the gassing target pressure. The control unit of the packaging machine also comprises a recipe generator for an adjustment process of the packaging machine preceding the production process or can be connected to a recipe generator of the apparatus, which generator is designed as a separate unit. The respective recipe generator comprises a set of rules for determining recipe variables for the adjustment process of the packaging machine and is designed to generate the recipe variables with reference to a plurality of data and to form therefrom a recipe data set for the adjustment process of the packaging machine. A packaging machine with an atmosphere modifying station in which an atmosphere within a packaging to be produced can be modified by evacuating air and/or introducing a gas. The packaging machine has a pressure control device that may control an evacuation pressure and/or a gassing pressure. The pressure control device may comprise a first controllable 2/2-way valve and a second controllable 2/2-way valve, both which are configured to influence the evacuation pressure and/or the gassing pressure by setting a volume flow. The first and second 2/2-way valves are connected in parallel with one another and are controllable independently of one another. In one embodiment, the first and second 2/2-way valves are preferably electrically controllable. A method of modifying an atmosphere within a package using a packaging machine and pressure control device is also provided.

A packaging machine, comprising a control unit, at least one measurement device and a plurality of work units for different processes. One of the work units is designed as a sealing station which comprises at least one moisture sensor designed as the measurement device which is functionally connected to the control unit and is designed to detect moisture within the sealing station as a time-dependent measured variable during a program sequence of the sealing station. The program sequence may comprise an evacuation process, wherein the control unit is designed to calculate a rate of change in the moisture during the evacuation process of the sealing station. The control unit may abort the evacuation process performed on the sealing station, based on the rate of change, before reaching a target vacuum pressure within the sealing station, immediately or after a specified delay time elapses.
