Provided is a method for a component of a cellular network for paging a plurality of user equipments being assigned to one of at least two paging groups, wherein each paging group is paged at a paging occasion defined for said paging group. The method comprises the steps of ascertaining at least one physical characteristics of said user equipment, assigning the user equipment to a paging group considering said at least one physical characteristic, and sending an information message related to paging at a defined paging occasion depending on the assigned paging group.

Method for paging user equipments in a cellular network

Provided is a method for data transmission from a user equipment to a remote server by means of a base station of a cellular network, wherein the user equipment is configured to carry out payload data transmission to said remote server. It comprises: carrying out a first signaling data transmission to the base station, determining a first power value representative of the power spent for said first signaling data transmission, maintaining the first power value as reference value, carrying out a second signaling data transmission to the base station, and determining a second power value representative of the power spent for said second signaling data transmission. In case said second power value exceeds said first power value by a predetermined threshold value, it delays the next payload data transmission for a predetermined time.

The present invention relates to a method for data transmission from a first user equipment to a base station of a cellular network, where the first user equipment is camping on under coverage enhancement conditions, the first user equipment being communicatively connected to at least one second user equipment via a device-to-device communication channel, wherein for the data transmission of at least one data packet, the method comprises the steps for the first user equipment of: transmitting the at least one data packet to the at least one second user equipment via the device-to-device communication channel, instructing the at least one second user equipment to transmit the at least one data packet time-synchronized with the first transmission to the base station.

A method for operating a wireless communication device comprising a communication unit comprising a radio mode decision unit and a transceiver unit, the radio mode decision unit further maintaining a set of network operation modes, the wireless communication device further comprising a controlling appliance, interconnected with the communication unit by means of a command interface. The communication unit ascertains at least one communication behavior parameterization conforming to a preconfigured communication behavior demand of a cellular network1 The controlling appliance submits a transport template dataset comprising a data element relating to an envisaged communication behavior to the communication unit by means of the command interface. The radio mode decision unit determines, for an imminent data exchange session of the wireless communication device with the cellular network by means of the transceiver unit, one of said network operation modes by taking into account said communication behavior parameterization and said transport template dataset.

An application device exchanges application data via a cellular radio communication network with an application server. The application device has a memory providing write access for a control entity associated with the network. The application device receives an information element from a network management node operated by the control entity. The information element is indicative of regulation information that defines at least one time span or point in time that can be used for transmission of application exchange data between the application device and the application server. The application device receives an instruction from the network management node to store the regulation information in the device memory, and stores the regulation information. The application device subsequently initiates transmission of the application exchange data between the application device and the application server only at an allowed time that is in accordance with the stored regulation information.
