The device aids the management of air operations, such as operations under Required Navigation Performance with Authorization Required maneuvers. The device includes a guidance system including a plurality of stages for calculating parameters, each of the stages including an architecture having at least three pieces of equipment, which calculate the parameters and implement monitorings to determine the status of the equipment. The device uses these monitored statuses to determine a global status that indicates if the aircraft is able to carry out the air operations with required performance.

A monitoring device for automatically monitoring the ability of an aircraft to follow a flight trajectory with at least one turn includes a series of elements that estimate the ability of the aircraft to follow at least one turn of the flight trajectory. For example, a turn radius and limit speed for each of the upcoming turns in a flight plan (or a partial portion of the upcoming turns) are analyzed by comparing to a current speed of the aircraft to determine if there will be any risk of excursion outside the flight plan path, such that warnings can be emitted to a crew of the aircraft to take corrective action before the turns are performed. Consequently, required navigational performance maneuvers can be assured before the beginning of the turns in the flight plan.

Method and device for automatically monitoring the ability of an aircraft to follow a flight trajectory with at least one turn

A device for verifying guidance orders includes a passivation device for implementing comparisons between guidance orders from at least three different equipments in order to generate a passivated guidance order. For example, one of the guidance orders may be an auxiliary guidance order used to compare to the other two primary guidance orders so that the primary guidance order that is closest to the auxiliary guidance order is selected as the passivated guidance order. The passivated (e.g., validated) guidance order is transmitted to a flight control system of the aircraft.

A monitoring device includes one or more devices for implementing monitoring, in order to check whether two flight management systems are able to operate in dual mode during operations requiring navigation and guidance performance. For example, a change condition verification device may be included in a second or slave flight management system so that sequencing requests and resynchronization requests received from a first or master flight management system are verified for accuracy before implementation. The verification may include comparison of positional data used by the first and second flight management systems or a comparison of a resynchronized flight plan to information from a navigation data database.

A monitoring device automatically monitors lateral guidance orders of an aircraft. The device includes a failure monitoring device for implementing comparisons between roll control orders generated by a number of equipments in order to be able to detect a failure of one of the equipments concerning the generation of lateral guidance orders of the aircraft. Additionally, the device includes a failure anticipation comparator device for analyzing inlet parameters of the equipments to determine when a failure of one of the equipments should be anticipated.
