The invention relates to a device () for the treatment by a pulsed electric field of a product intended to circulate through this device, comprising first and second electrodes () forming parallel plates between which a treatment zone (), is defined, and also comprising a pulse generator () electrically connected to at least said first electrode () so as to be able to apply a pulsed electric field in the treatment zone (), the device also comprising a product inlet conduit () into the treatment zone and a product outlet conduit (). According to the invention, the first electrode () is electrically connected to the pulse generator () through either of the two conduits (), arranged in contact with this first electrode.

Method of contacting a first and a second immiscible liquids without mixing them, including: (a) the first liquid is placed in at least one container comprising a wall made of a solid material that is non reactive with the first and second liquids, said wall having one or more through-holes and the first liquid being non wetting vis &#xe0; vis said solid material of the wall; (b) said first container is immersed in a volume of the second liquid so that the first liquid is in contact with the second liquid at the level of said through-holes; (c) the first liquid is left in contact with the second liquid for a time sufficient for mass exchange, transfer, to take place between the first and second liquids; and (d) said first container is withdrawn from the volume of the second liquid.

A precipitator comprises a counter-current circulation between the reacting substances () and a non-miscible and chemically inert organic confinement phase () to maintain the phase containing the reagent in an emulsion. The walls of the precipitator are hydrophobic to prevent the adhesion of the precipitate. The emulsion is maintained by a mobile stirrer body (). The precipitate is removed continually by a scavenging flow rate device ().
