The present invention provides concentrated soap compositions formulated in such a manner that, quite unpredictably, despite high concentration of soap, they have viscosity which allows them to be pumped from, for example, consumer packaging (e.g., bottles) and/or transit or storage points during manufacture (e.g., pipes, storage tanks, etc.).

The present invention provided concentrated soap compositions, particularly those where long chain (&#x3e;C) soap and fatty acid comprise &#x3e;50% of soap and fatty acid. The compositions are formulated in such reasons that, quite unpredictably, despite high soap concentration, they have viscosity which allow them to be pumped from, for example, consumer packaging (e.g., bottles) and/or transit or storage points during manufacture (e.g., pipes, storage tanks, etc.).

Concentrated liquid soap formulations with greater than 50% long chain soap and fatty acid having readily pumpable viscosity

The present invention relates to process for producing bars comprising 20 to 70% by wt. acyl isethionate and 15% to 35% free fatty acid and which is made by process where excess fatty acids made during production of acyl isethionate is removed by neutralization rather than by 'stripping'. The bar retains remarkably desirable consumer properties.
