A grommet apparatus for a vehicle having a first floor and a second floor, and including a pin, a post, a slot grommet and a snap grommet. The pin is fixedly attached to a vehicle floor. The post is attached to the pin. The slot grommet includes a slot-grommet base member and an attachment member attached to each other such that the first floor is positioned therebetween. The pin and the post extend through the slot-grommet base member and the attachment member. The snap grommet is removably coupled to the post and includes a snap-grommet base member and a connecting member that are attached to each other such that the second floor is positioned therebetween. The pin and the post extend at least partially through the snap-grommet base member and the connecting member.

Vehicle having grommet apparatus

A vehicle includes a cargo area having a surface and a floor assembly. The floor assembly includes a pair of elongated trim panels, a floor panel and a pair of locking mechanisms. The pair of elongated trim panels are mounted to the surface of the cargo area at opposite sides thereof. The floor panel is slidably disposed onto the surface of the cargo area and between the pair of trim panels. The pair of locking mechanisms connect the floor panel and the pair of trim panels to prevent vertical and horizontal movement of the floor panel when the floor panel is fully disposed onto the surface of the cargo area.

A vehicle includes a convertible space system that is integrated into a floor of an interior cargo area. The convertible space system includes a pair of panels that are moveable between a stowed position and a deployed position. When in the deployed position, the pair of panels are extended and integrally positioned on the floor to define a primary load bearing surface. When in the stowed position, the pair of panels are collapsed and positioned on the floor to define vertically extending lateral boundary walls for the cargo area, and to expose a secondary load bearing surface disposed below the primary load bearing surface, thereby increasing the effective height of the interior cargo area.

Convertible space system for interior cargo area of a vehicle

A cargo system includes first and second rails extending longitudinally along first and second side walls of a vehicle. A load floor has multiple panels hinged to one another. The rails are configured to support the load floor above a floor of the vehicle. The load floor is movable along the rails between an extended position and a retracted position. The multiple panels of the load floor divide the cargo area into a first portion below the load floor and above the vehicle floor and a second portion above the load floor. The multiple panels substantially uncover the vehicle floor when the load floor is in the retracted position. The cargo system may also include a cargo retainer. The rails support the cargo retainer such that the cargo retainer spans between the rails and is above the load floor when the load floor is in the extended position.
