A plurality of integrally interconnected wipes collectively define a web. The plurality of wipes includes a first wipe, a second wipe, and a third wipe. A first transverse intermittent cut line defines a right side major tie that connects the first wipe to the second wipe, and the right side major tie has a width. A second transverse intermittent cut line defines a left side major tie that connects the second wipe to the third wipe. In particular embodiments, the first wipe and the second wipe are connected to each other only within the right side of the web, and the second wipe and the third wipe are connected to each other only within the left side of the web. In certain embodiment, the wipes are also connected to each via minor ties that are transversely narrower than the major ties.

Plurality of integrally interconnected wipes for use in dispenser

A plurality of stacked, interconnected wipes that collectively define a stack. Each wipe is connected to at least one other wipe on only one of the right side and the left side of the stack via a connection. In particular embodiments, immediately successive connections in a stacked direction are on alternating right and left sides of the stack. In other embodiments, immediately successive connections in a stacked direction are on the same side of the stack.

Plurality of interconnected wipes for use in dispenser

A method of dispensing wipes includes providing a stack of wipes. Each wipe is generally rectangular in shape and defines four corners. A dispenser has a dispensing orifice. The method includes grasping a presented corner of a leading wipe, and pulling the presented corner of the leading wipe to withdraw the leading wipe out of the dispenser, whereby the leading wipe releases from a succeeding wipe such that a presented corner of the succeeding wipe, and no other corner of the succeeding wipe, protrudes from the dispensing orifice. In particular embodiments, the presented corner of the leading wipe and the presented corner of the succeeding wipe originate from opposite sides of the stack. In other embodiments, the presented corner of the leading wipe and the presented corner of the succeeding wipe each originate from the same side of the stack.

Method of dispensing a plurality of interconnected wipes

A method of extruding products comprises varying the rate of flow of at least one material () through an extrusion aperture in a die (). The method may be used to produce an extrudate body () whose cross-sectional area varies along its length or to produce an extrudate body comprising two or more different materials in which the proportions of the materials varies along its length. Apparatus () for carrying out the method comprises an extrusion die () defining an extrusion aperture and a material delivery system for delivering the material(s) to the die in a suitable condition for extrusion. A control system is operative to vary the rate of flow of the material. The control system may comprise a flow control mechanism () in a supply path for the first material upstream from the die (). The flow control mechanism () may be operative to vary the volume of the supply path and may comprise a fluid actuated resiliently deformable flexible element. The method and apparatus are particularly suited for manufacturing food products, especially confectionery products such as chocolate bars.

Apparatus and method for manufacturing products

A method of manufacturing products comprising an outer casing of a first material () and containing at least one chamber () filled with a second material () comprises extruding the first material through a die () to form an extrudate body () and delivering the second material through at least one fluid outlet () in the die to form the least one filled chamber. The extrusion process is varied periodically and momentarily to produce sections () of extrudate body having no filled chamber. In one embodiment, the flow of the second material () is periodically reduced to form the unfilled sections. The flow of the second material () may be reduced by increasing the volume of a supply path for the second material upstream from the die (). Apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed. The method and apparatus are particularly adapted for producing food, and especially confectionery, products.
