A dental care product comprising carbonate-substituted fluoro-hydroxyapatite particles having the formula: CaZnSrM(PO)(CO)(OH)Fwherein M is selected from the group comprising Mg, Se, K and mixtures thereof; x is a number comprised between 0 and 0.02; y is a number comprised between 0.0010 and 0.015; m is a number between 0 and 0.5; z is a number comprised between 0.0010 and 0.010 and w is a number comprised between 0.000002 and 0.0001; wherein said fluoro-hydroxyapatite particles have a crystallinity degree CD comprised between 50 and 85%.

The present invention refers to oral care and oral hygiene products having photocatalytic activity comprising particles of a calcium phosphate compound, superficially functionalised with TiO2 nanoparticles in crystalline form, said TiO2 nanoparticles having: a) a substantially lamellar morphology; b) an aspect ratio (AR) comprised between 5 and 30; c) a surface structure having face (001) as outermost face of the crystalline lattice; and d) wherein the TiO2 is in the form of anatase, optionally mixed with rutile and/or brookite.
