A method is disclosed for controlling a drill-free curve-CVT including a ring wheel, a set of planet wheels, and a sun wheel, wherein the ring and sun wheel are clamped together. The normal forces between the ring and sun wheel on the one hand and the planet wheels on the other hand are well defined when the transmission ratio is constant. The normal forces for constant ratio are called the static values. The method is configured so that during a continuous increase or decrease of the transmission ratio, any force component added to the static values of the first and/or the second normal force is either zero or smaller than a predefined force component to maintain a microslip condition of the rolling contacts between the planet wheels and the ring and sun wheels. This control of the forces is applied regardless of the speed of the ratio change.

Method for controlling a continuously variable transmission and a transmission equipped with a control system for implementing said method

A planetary variator applicable in a variable transmission for realizing a variable speed and torque ratio includes: a ring wheel; at least two planet wheels, the at least two planet wheels including a shaft portion and a wheel portion that is rotatable about the shaft portion, the shaft portion having a longitudinal central axis, the longitudinal central axis also being the rotation axis of the wheel portion, each planet wheel being freely rotatable about a hinge axis that is oriented essentially perpendicularly with respect to a plane defined by the common central axis and the rotation axis of the wheel portion of the planet wheel; and a sun wheel. The ring wheel and the sun wheel are axisymmetric bodies positioned with respect to a common central symmetry axis. Interaction between the ring wheel, the at least two planet wheels, and the sun wheel takes place through a rolling motion.

Planetary variator for variable transmission

A double clutch of a double clutch transmission is described and illustrated, and can include an inner clutch which is connected to an inner shaft and has an inner disk carrier for inner disks; an outer clutch which is connected to a hollow shaft arranged co-axially with respect to the inner shaft and has an outer disk carrier for outer disks; and a drive member arranged on a drive shaft and having inner and outer drive disks which can be operatively connected to the inner or outer disks and which form an inner clutch pack or an outer clutch pack together with the disks; wherein a common disk carrier for both clutch packs is attached to the drive member; the disk carrier includes two hubs associated with the clutch packs and engaged within one another; and each hub comprises a plurality of teeth.
