A vehicle speed control system includes a vehicle accelerator mechanism manually moveable between a plurality of positions, a detection arrangement configured to detect the position of the vehicle accelerator mechanism and to generate an output signal indicative of the position of the vehicle accelerator mechanism, and a vehicle speed controller configured to establish a speed of the vehicle as a function of the detected position of the manually controllable vehicle accelerator mechanism, and to use the output signal as an input speed control signal. A method of controlling speed of a vehicle by a vehicle speed control system is also provided.

Vehicle speed control system

A wave energy converter includes a buoyant body and an acceleration tube with a working cylinder and working piston movable therein, a mooring system, and at least one energy collecting device including a differential cylinder having an internal pump piston connected to the working piston via a piston rod. The differential cylinder includes a pumping chamber and an annular pumping chamber. When decreasing volume of the annular gap-shaped pumping chamber, the pump piston expels hydraulic fluid from the pumping chamber toward the pressure accumulator and draws hydraulic fluid from the fluid tank into the substantially cylindrical pumping chamber. During a working stroke causing a decrease in volume of the substantially cylindrical pumping chamber, the pump piston causes hydraulic fluid to bypass the pump piston through a fluid connection from the substantially cylindrical pumping chamber into the annular gap-shaped pumping chamber and further in a direction toward the pressure accumulator.

Wave energy converter with a differential cylinder

A wave energy converter includes a buoyant body and an acceleration tube attached thereto forming a working cylinder. Upper and lower openings in the acceleration tube allow water flow between the working cylinder and the water in which the acceleration tube is at least partially submerged. A working piston is reciprocable in the working cylinder and an energy converting device collects energy from the movements of the working piston relative to the buoyant body. A mooring system maintains the wave energy converter within a desired anchoring area and includes at least a first fastening device mounted on the buoyant body for attachment of a first mooring line to the buoyant body and a second fastening device mounted on the buoyant body for attachment of a second mooring line to the buoyant body. The mooring lines include first and second line sections, respectively, and at least one buoyant element attached therebetween.

A bend limiting device for a cable includes at least one elongated sleeve member with an entrance end exhibiting an entrance opening and an opposite exit end exhibiting an exit opening for the cable, an outer abutment surface between the entrance and exit ends secures against a rigid surface of a floating marine installation or vessel, an axially through-going hole between the entrance opening and the exit opening accommodates a portion of the cable, and at least one clamping device secures the sleeve member in a fixed position around the cable portion. The outer abutment surface of the sleeve member allows it to be secured against the rigid surface by applying a pulling force on the cable in a direction from the abutment surface to the rigid surface, as well as to be detached from the rigid surface when the application of pulling force on the cable ceases.

A connection substation for a plurality of wave energy converters being part of a wave power station includes a transformer and a connecting device for electrically connecting input power cables to a common output cable. The connection substation has a buoyant body portion providing a buoyancy force and a fastening device for securing at least one mooring line connected to an anchor, wherein the at least one fastening device is disposed in the vicinity of the bottom end of the connection substation at a distance from an upper end of the buoyant body portion, wherein the at least one connecting device is disposed in a waterproof compartment in the connection substation, and wherein each of the plurality of input power cables are run so that at least a portion of the cable extends up to a level at least 2 meters above the design waterline of the connection substation.

A wave energy converter includes a buoyant body and an acceleration tube with a working cylinder and working piston movable therein, a mooring system, and at least one energy collecting device including a hydraulic pump in the form of a hydraulic cylinder having a jacket and an internal pump piston connected to at least one piston rod, which forms a mechanical connection between the buoyant body and the working piston in the working cylinder, wherein at least one float body having a buoyancy in the body of water where the wave energy converter operates is connected to the working piston and wherein the buoyancy of the float body is adapted to maintain the working piston in a desired vertical operating range in the working cylinder when the wave energy converter.

A method is provided for controlling charging of an electric energy storage system in a vehicle including an electric machine which is arranged for propulsion of the vehicle. The method includes initiating the charging upon connection of the energy storage system to an external power supply via a first connector element associated with the vehicle and a second connector element associated with the external power supply, and monitoring a contact resistance defined by the connection of the connector elements. Furthermore, the method includes measuring and calculating the power loss over the connector elements during the charging, and generating an error signal if the power loss is higher than a predetermined threshold value, the error signal being dependent on the magnitude of the power loss. An arrangement for controlling charging of an electric energy storage system in a vehicle is also provided.

A cooling system for a heavy road vehicle provided with a hybrid propulsion system includes a mechanical propulsion system and a hydraulic propulsion system. The cooling system includes a pump and a first cooling circuit including a gearbox cooling circuit a hydraulic propulsion system cooling circuit and a first radiator for cooling of a coolant flowing in the first cooling circuit. The radiator is connected in series with and located upstream of the gearbox cooling circuit and the hydraulic propulsion system cooling circuit. The cooling system is designed such that the hydraulic propulsion cooling circuit and the gearbox cooling circuit are connected in parallel.

In a method for controlling a traction system for a heavy road vehicle, the system includes a first mechanical propulsion system, a second hydraulic propulsion system, and a control unit. The method includes measuring a first parameter value, indicative of the rolling radius of a first traction wheel, measuring a second parameter value, indicative of the rolling radius of a second traction wheel, and the control unit using the first and second parameter values for determining a present relation between the rolling radii of the first and second traction wheels. A vehicle traction system includes a first traction wheel forming part of a first propulsion system including a mechanical drive train, a second traction wheel forming part of a second propulsion system including a hydraulic pump for powering a hydraulic motor, one sensor indicating a take-off condition, and a control unit for controlling the second propulsion unit. The control unit is programmed to automatically detect a take-off condition by the sensor and send an input to the control unit that a take-off condition is fulfilled, automatically provide a traction force from the second propulsion system in response to the indication that there is a take-off condition of the vehicle present and an indication that a traction is or will be provided by the first traction system, and automatically control the second propulsion unit by the control unit in dependence of the manually controlled torque from the first propulsion unit.

The enclosure means at least partially encloses the first sealing element. The first sealing element is thus brought to a sealing engagement with the shaft.

A hydraulic rotating axial piston engine has a housing enclosing a rotatable cylinder barrel. The barrel has a number of axial cylinders with a number of reciprocating pistons. The pistons reciprocate between two defined end positions, and cooperate with an angled plate in order to obtain the reciprocating movement. The cylinder barrel is rotatable relative to a first axis, which is inclined relative to a second axis of an input/output shaft. The housing has two parts, one part of the housing positions the input/out shaft and a second part includes inlet and outlet channels. The rotation of the cylinder barrel and the input/output shaft is synchronized by means of synchronizing means. A central support pin extends along the first axis between the angled plate and the cylinder barrel. The support pin is at one end axially connected with the angled plate, and at the other end axially connected to the cylinder barrel. The support pin limits axial movement at the cylinder barrel relative to the angled plate.

Hydraulic rotating axial piston engine

A hydraulic rotating axial piston engine has a housing enclosing a rotatable cylinder barrel. The cylinder barrel has a number of axial cylinders with a number of reciprocating pistons therein. The pistons reciprocate between two defined end positions and cooperate with an angled plate in order to obtain the reciprocating movement. The cylinders have ports alternatingly acting as inlet and outlet ports and the housing has at least one inlet and outlet channel. The channels each have a kidney-shaped port, facing towards the inlet and outlet ports of the cylinder barrel, and communicating with a number of the ports at the barrel. The cylinder barrel is rotatable relative to a first axis, which is inclined relative to a second axis of an input/output shaft. The angled plate is rotatable together with the input/output shaft around the second axis. The rotation of the cylinder barrel and the input/output shaft are synchronized by means of synchronizing means. The combination of the cylinders and pistons are an even number and the synchronizing means has a synchronizing torque which during the whole rotation of the cylinder barrel is directed in substantially one single direction.
