The invention relates to a wiper element comprising a wiper blade made of an elastomeric material and reinforced with at least one elongated element (). The elongated element () comprises a core () and a coating system (). The coating system comprises a zinc alloy coating and a polyester coating on top of the zinc alloy coating. Using this coating system, the elongated element () is made corrosion resistant.

Reinforced wiper element

The invention relates to a reinforced composite having an unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix reinforced by means of elongated steel element provided with a coating of acrylate based polymer. The yield strength of elongated steel element of the present invention at 0.01% permanent elongation is at least 1500 MPa. PVC reinforced composites

A metal wire is first coated with a coating. In this first coating, retro-reflective beads are partly embedded. Thereafter the beads and the first coating are covered by a protective coating. The metal wire is made from a strand or wire made of stainless steel, or low carbon steel, or high carbon steel. The retro-reflective metal wire is used for diverse applications, such as spoke wire, signalization means, or bookbinding wire.

Steel wire is coated with a metal layer such that the metal layer has a surface with roughnesses. A surface roughness Ra of above 0.25 &#x3bc;m is reached. Preferably, the roughnesses are randomly dispersed at the surface. The result is an improved visual aspect and an increased resistance against corrosion.
