Each of the elements shaped to define transit channels having a first transverse section greater in correspondence with the ends of the transport rollers and a second transverse section less in correspondence with the median zone of the transport rollers.

Compact rolling block comprising at least one rolling mill stand having a horizontal axis and at least one rolling mill stand having a vertical axis, two end rolling mill stands having the same axis and being separated by a central rolling mill stand having an axis substantially at 90.degree. to the axes of the other two end rolling mill stands, the end rolling mill stands (11, 13) cooperating by means of extensions (18a, 18c) with a first gear casing (16) forming a support for a second gear casing (25) associated by means of extensions (18b) with the central rolling mill stand (12), a motor (17b) of the central rolling mill stand (12) being upheld by the first gear casing (16), the extensions (18a, 18c, 18c) associated with the respective rolling mill stands (11, 12, 13) including respective connecting bushes (28a, 28b, 28c) associated with support means (27, 127) which can be positioned by means of actuation units (26, 126) so as to connect/release the relative connecting bushes (28a, 28b, 28c) to/from respective ring-bearing shafts (14).

Fast rolling block (10) employed in a compact rolling line for long products such as bars, round bars, wire rod and analogous products, the fast rolling block (10) comprising rolling mill stands (11) arranged in sequence with pairs of rolls (13) having alternate axes and installed alternately opposite to each other on a base (14), the base (14) comprising at least one horizontal base plate (15) extending parallel to the horizontal plane containing the rolling axis (12) and comprising also transverse plate elements (17) spaced apart and bearing on their upper edge (20) elements (19) for installation of the rolling mill stands (11), there being included longitudinal connecting elements (16), each transverse plate element (17) having a minimum width ('L') equal to 70% of the width of the horizontal base plate (15), the longitudinal connecting elements (16) extending between one transverse plate element (17) and the adjacent one.

Fast rolling block

A rolling roll with rolling ring which includes a pair of supporting half-shafts, which cooperate with each other and are suitable for the keying of the relative rolling ring. The keying is carried out substantially at the zone of cooperation between the half-shafts, the half-shafts (12a-12b) being set in traction against each other by means of a tie rod. The cooperation between the two half-shafts is obtained with a tapered coupling of a male/female type of the half-shafts to each other, this male/female coupling providing a zone of superimposing of terminal portions (12a-12b) of the half-shafts (12a-12b), this zone covering at least an important part of the axial extent of the rolling ring.

Cooling chamber which is of the type installed in a rolling line downstream of the last finishing stand and/or between the finishing stands and comprises a casing (11) containing a cavity (18) for circulation of a cooling fluid cooperating with a lateral opening (17) permitting immission of a cooling fluid and positioned on a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the casing (11), the casing (11) including a seating (12) for the axial sliding of a slider (14) able to move longitudinally through the fluid circulation cavity (18), the slider (14) containing an axial through bore (15) for the feeding of the rolled product, the fluid circulation cavity (18) being defined by a flange (13) containing an axial through bore (16) which is coaxial with the axial sliding seating (12) and is conformed with a taper cooperating with the slider (14), the flange (13) being complete in itself or extending with a tube (19) to contain the rolled product and cooling fluid, the slider (14) having its downstream portion positioned within the fluid circulation cavity (18), this downstream portion being defined by a first downstream truncated-cone segment (20) having its vertex facing downstream and tapered with a taper '.alpha.', a first intermediate cylindrical segment (21) with its axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the slider (14), a second intermediate tapered segment (22) having a taper '.gamma.' and a second upstream cylindrical segment (23), an outer sidewall (31) defining the axial sliding seating (12) off the slider (14) and extending into the fluid circulation cavity (18) at least to the vicinity of the axis of the lateral opening (17) and being conformed with a taper '.alpha. 2' connected (30) to the upstream sidewall of the fluid circulation cavity (18), the bore (16) of the flange (13) including a taper '.beta.' which is a function of the taper '.alpha.' of the slider (14).

Method for the multiple receipt and discharge of rolled sections onto a cooling plate, the method being suitable to handle simultaneously groups of two or more rolled sections (11) arriving simultaneously from an intake channel, whereby at least one multigroove equipped channel (10) receives the sections (11) simultaneously and discharges them while another group of sections (11) arrives in separate distinct grooves, such discharge taking place in cooperation with specific acceptance seatings (19) on the cooling plate (18), the cooling plate (18) advancing in each forward movement cycle by a number of acceptance seatings (19) equal to 'n' times the pitch ('i') of the cooling plate (18), the number 'n' being a function of the number of rolled sections arriving at the same time. Device to receive and discharge a multiple of rolled sections (11) onto the cooling plate (18), the device being suitable to handle groups of a plurality of rolled sections (11) at the same time and including a supporting bar (14) positioned above the cooling plate (18) and determining vertically a first guide groove (12a-12c) and a second guide groove (12b-12d) on each side, the guide grooves (12) being defined by panels (15) able to move perpendicularly to the supporting bar (14).

Device to discard short bars shorter than a predetermined length from a plurality of bars being fed by feeder that comprise a plurality of first conveyor chains (14a) and a matching plurality of second conveyor chains (14b), on which the bars (11) are positioned perpendicular to the conveyor chains (14) and are fed in a direction at a right angle to the lengthwise extent of the bars (11), the downstream ends of the first conveyor chains (14a) and upstream ends of the second conveyor chains (14b) being progressively staggered so as to define a separation channel (13) positioned at an angle to the axis of feed of the bars (11), an angle of between 10.degree. and 45.degree. being defined between the separation channel (13) and the axis of the bars (11), the separation channel (13) cooperating with a bridge to support ends of bars of at least the predetermined length.
