An example of a coating composition includes an inorganic pigment, a latex, a cationic fixing agent, and a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of ethopropoxylated polyarylphenol, ethoxylated tristyrylphenol, modified fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers, and combinations thereof. Another example of a coating composition consists essentially of an inorganic pigment, a latex, a cationic fixing agent, a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of ethopropoxylated polyarylphenol, ethoxylated tristyrylphenol, modified fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers, and combinations thereof, and water.

Coating composition

An example of a printable recording medium includes a base substrate and an ink-receiving layer. The ink-receiving layer includes an inorganic pigment in an amount equal to or greater than 70 wt % and an ink-fixing agent in an amount ranging from about 3 wt % to about 10 wt % based on the total wt % of the ink-receiving layer. The inorganic pigment has a median particle size ranging from about 0.5 &#x3bc;m to about 5 &#x3bc;m. The ink-receiving layer excludes precipitated calcium carbonate.

Printable recording medium

An example of a printable recording medium includes a base substrate, a first ink-receiving layer, and a second ink-receiving layer. The first ink-receiving layer includes a first inorganic pigment in an amount equal to or greater than 70 wt % and a first ink-fixing agent in an amount ranging from about 3 wt % to about 10 wt % based on a total wt % of the first ink-receiving layer. The second ink-receiving layer includes a second inorganic pigment. Both the first ink-receiving layer and the second ink-receiving layer exclude precipitated calcium carbonate.

The present disclosure is drawn to a recording medium including a substrate, a first coating applied to the substrate, and a second coating applied to the first coating. The first coating can include inorganic pigment, fixative agent, and a first binder. The second coating can include inorganic nanoparticles, aluminum silicate, and a second binder.

Recording media

A coating composition for a corrugated paper board is described. The corrugated paper board includes an inner liner sheet and an outer liner sheet adhered to opposite sides of a corrugated medium. The coating composition includes a pre-coat layer and a topcoat layer. The pre-coat layer includes an ink fixer agent and a pigment, and is disposed on one or both of the liner sheets. The topcoat layer is disposed on top of the pre-coat layer to form an ink receiving layer. The topcoat layer includes a wax and is devoid of the ink fixer agent.

Coating composition for corrugated paper board

An example of an ink composition includes a pigment, an anionic polymeric dispersant, polyurethane, a co-solvent, a surfactant, tristyrylphenol ethoxylate, and a balance of water. The tristyrylphenol ethoxylate is present in an amount ranging from about 0.1 wt % to about 2 wt % of a total wt % of the ink composition.

Ink composition and pre-treatment fixing fluid

An example of a pre-treatment fixing fluid for an offset coated medium includes calcium propionate, calcium pantothenate, tetraethylene glycol, a surfactant having an HLB less than 10, an acid, and a balance of water. The calcium propionate is present in an amount ranging from greater than 4.5 wt % to 8.0 wt %, the calcium pantothenate is present in an amount ranging from about 2.0 wt % to equal to or less than 15 wt %, and the surfactant is present in an amount ranging from about 0.01 wt % to about 1.0 wt %, each based on the total wt % of the pre-treatment fixing fluid. The acid is present in an amount sufficient to render the pH from about 4.0 to about 7.0.

Pre-treatment fixing fluid for an offset coated medium

An ink composition is disclosed herein. The ink composition includes from about 5 wt % to about 25 wt % of a co-solvent; from about 0.025 wt % to about 0.2 wt % of i) a chelating agent represented by formula 1, wherein R' is a carboxylic acid functional group or a carboxylate salt functional group and n&#x3e;2; ii) a chelating agent represented by formula 2:, wherein R is a carboxylic acid functional group or a carboxylate salt functional group, m is greater than or equal to 1, x is greater than or equal to 2, y is greater than or equal to 1, and z is greater than or equal to 2; iii) a chelating agent represented by formula 3, wherein any of r, s, t, or u is a sulfonic acid functional group or a sulfonate functional group; or iv) combinations of any of i, ii, and iii. The ink composition also includes a balance of water.

Ink composition

A fixer composition is disclosed herein. An example of the fixer composition includes from about 5 wt % to about 25 wt % of a co-solvent, from about 1 wt % to about 20 wt % of a calcium salt, from about 0.01 wt % to about 0.6 wt % of a sulfonated chelating agent, and a balance of water.
