An elevator communication system includes a first elevator controller, a second elevator controller communicatively connected to the first elevator controller, a first ethernet bus portion connected to the first elevator controller, a second ethernet bus portion connected to the second elevator controller, and at least one elevator system node communicatively connected to the first elevator controller via the first ethernet bus portion and to the second elevator controller via the second ethernet bus portion.

Elevator communication system

An elevator communication system includes at least one ethernet bus segment, a controller communicatively connected to the at least one ethernet bus segment, and a plurality of elevator system nodes communicatively connected to the at least one ethernet bus segment. The controller is configured to determine a fault situation in the elevator communication system and cause reduction of the data communication via the at least one ethernet bus segment based on the fault situation.

According to an aspect, there is provided an elevator communication system. The system comprises an ethernet bus, a safety master node communicatively connected to the ethernet bus and configured to communicate via the ethernet bus, and safety slave nodes communicatively connected to the ethernet bus and configured to communicate via the ethernet bus. The safety master node and the safety slave nodes are configured to communicate by using a time-triggered communication protocol. In the time-triggered communication protocol the safety master node is configured to send a polling diagnostic request message to the safety slave nodes by using a predetermined polling cycle.

Safety communication in an elevator communication system

The invention refers to a method for accessing an passenger transportation device control means comprising several separated printed circuit boards (PCB), whereby each of these PCBs comprises a unique identifier (ID), and in which method the passenger transportation device control means comprise a matching table which is used by the passenger transportation device control means to perform a matching test to check the identifier of at least two of the PCBs and to put the passenger transportation device control means into normal operation only if their IDs match the IDs of the matching table. A service technician connects via a key to the passenger transportation device control means, which key enables the service technician to set the passenger transportation device control means into a fault finding mode, in which fault finding mode the passenger transportation device control means are initiated to skip the matching test before getting into operation, whereby the fault finding mode is terminated at the latest when the service technician terminates the key-based connection with the passenger transportation device control means.

Accessing a passenger transportation device control means

The invention allows verification of authenticity of a maintenance means connectable to a controller of a passenger transportation/access device of a building. A digitally signed license key including a public asymmetric cryptography key of the maintenance means and optionally a one-way hash of a unique identifier of the maintenance means is used for this verification. Furthermore, an asymmetric cryptography key pair of the maintenance means and a symmetric cryptography key created by the controller are utilized in this verification.

Verification of authenticity of a maintenance means connected to a controller of a passenger transportation/access device of a building and provision and obtainment of a license key for use therein

A system and a method to prevent the use of pirate products in an elevator control are provided. The system includes at least one elevator control, an updating mechanism and a connection between the elevator control and said updating mechanism. The elevator control includes essential electronic components provided with their own ID. An authorization section, which is configured to read the IDs of the essential electronic components, includes a reference list with allowed IDs, a comparator and a switching logic configured to issue an authorization signal for the elevator control to start or prevent operation of the elevator control depending on the comparison result of the comparator. The connection between the elevator control and the updating mechanism is configured to initiate the elevator control to update the IDs of the essential electronic components in the elevator control.

Prevention of pirate products in an elevator control using ID

The invention relates to a method and apparatus. In the method, a programmable random access memory testing circuit detects a signal to initiate testing of at least one random access memory circuit, the testing circuit being connected to a bus to which a processor and the at least one memory circuit is connected, the at least one memory circuit comprising at least a first memory block. The testing circuit determines that the bus is not reserved and reserves the bus. The testing circuit reads application data in a first memory block to a temporary memory of the testing circuit. The testing circuit executes marching test for the first memory block in a memory circuit. The testing circuit returns the application data back to the first memory block in the memory circuit. The testing circuit releases the bus.
