The invention relates to a composition containing a material with getter effect in fine distribution accompanying metals and a carrier. The composition contains 20-80 vol-% volatile solvent, in particular petrol, as carrier, related to the total quantity of metals, as metallic component 30-70 mass-% zirconium-alloy, 15-30 mass-% nickel and the remaining part is aluminium with a laminar morphology.

Getter-composition for lightsources

The soldering enamel is composed of a basic enamel consisting of aluminium oxide and a rare earth metal oxide and/or an alkali earth metal oxide and, in the given case, some other metallic or metalloid oxide, and of a ceramic filling material. The filling material is a zirconium-rare earth oxide of perovskite crystal structure. The quantity of the filling material amounts up to 5 mass % referred to the overall quantity of enamel.

The invention relates to a metal-halogen discharge lamp with an alkali-halide additive. The lamp consists of the discharge tube (2), the outer bulb (1), the current leads (3) led into the discharge tube (2) through the outer bulb (1). The discharge lamp according to the invention can be characterized in that the metal components arranged in the outer bulb of the discharge lamp and connected electrically to the mains are separated by a material insulating against alkali ions or alkali ions and electrons.

Metal-halogen discharge lamp with conically shaped insulating elements

The invention relates to a metal halogen vapor lamp with a discharge tube coated on surfaces adjacent to its electrodes with a heat reflecting layer. The discharge space comprising a discharge tube is made of a material which is permeable to light, preferrably quartz. The discharge space is between electrodes having a high melting point. An arc discharge takes place in the discharge space between the electrodes. The discharge space contains a metal of high vapor pressure at operational temperatures, a noble gas and, as additives, at least one metal and a halogen which forms a halogen compound with said metal. There is a heat reflecting layer with advantageous properties at one or both ends of the discharge tube of a material of high melting point, preferably quartz. The characteristics of said layer differ in many respects from the properties of previously known heat reflecting layers since it is bound to the surface of the quartz discharge tube by an inorganic binding material. The heat reflecting layer prepared in accordance with our invention comprises as heat reflecting materials, zirconium oxide, cobalt aluminate, quartz wool or combinations thereof which are fixed or bound onto the discharge tube by means of magnesium oxychloride, known as Sorel-Cement. The binder remains on the discharge tube even after the tube is burnt.

A high-pressure gas discharge light source with high light conversion efficiency and color rendering, having a translucent discharge vessel of high melting point material in which electrodes of high melting point material are suspended and containing a filling of an inert gas or a mixture of inert gases, at least one metal halide and optionally one or more metals in the elemental state under cold conditions, wherein the ratio of the metal to the halogen forming the halide is stoichiometric or greater, and the specific wall load factor is between 25 and 200 W/cm.sup.2 and/or the quantity of the halide or halides is 0.01 to 1 mg per centimeter length of the arc.
