A lighting unit including at least one elongated substrate having a plurality of light-emitting optoelectronic devices mounted thereon and an elongated housing supporting the elongated substrate. The housing includes integrally-formed reflectors positioned adjacent the optoelectronic devices. The lighting unit also includes a translucent output panel that transmits light from the optoelectronic devices. The light unit has a first wiring harness for connection to a power source, and a second wiring harness connectable to an adjacent lighting unit.

LED accent lighting units

A high-intensity light comprising a side-emitting optoelectronic device adapted to emit light of a desired color. A heat sink is positioned adjacent the optoelectronic device and a reflector at least partially surrounds the optoelectronic device. The reflector is spaced a distance from the optoelectronic device. A window portion is sized to output the light in a desired arc.

High-intensity directional light

A radiation-emitting device comprising a side-emitting optoelectronic device having an upper surface and a heat sink in thermal conductivity with the side-emitting optoelectronic device. A reflector at least partially surrounds the side-emitting optoelectronic device. The reflector is positioned and shaped to reflect the emitted light substantially in an output direction. A reflective, non-transparent layer is disposed adjacent the upper surface of the side-emitting optoelectronic device.

Sign illumination system

A lighting fixture is disclosed which provides a substantially uniform elongated light output, yet is powered by only a minimum number of inexpensive light emitting diodes. The lighting fixture has a curved back surface and a selected focal area to provide a substantially uniform output. Multiple LEDs may be controlled by a controller to provide special lighting effects. Each of the side surfaces and the back surface may include a reflector. The lighting fixtures preferably have flat end surfaces so they may be placed end-to-end to create an elongated light bar of any desired length.

Light emitting diode light bar

The invention provides a light fixture for illuminating a sign. The light fixture has a lamp and one or more reflectors to provide for substantially uniform illumination of a sign with a minimum number of light fixtures. One or more of the reflectors of some embodiments can formed from a material having predetermined pattern for reflecting and transmitting light from the lamp. For example, the reflectors can be made from a neutral density polymeric material consisting of a translucent or substantially transparent polymeric substrate with a pattern of reflective media disposed on or within the substrate. In some embodiments, one of the reflectors can be a specular reflector. Some embodiments of the light fixture can also include a thermal shield to at least partially prevent thermal convection along a portion of the lamp.

Sign illumination light fixture

A high intensity lighting device ( ) is provided. The lighting device has a linear light source ( ), a reflective member ( ), and a translucent region ( ). The linear light source and reflective member typically share a common axis. The reflective member, which can take many shapes, causes light which would normally be absorbed or propagated within a light housing ( ) to converge on the translucent region. The translucent region having a longitudinal axis coincident to the common axis focuses rays of light to an intended area. If desired, a lens ( ) may also be used to collimate the light such as a cylindrical lens or one or more prisms ( ) for example.

High intensity lamp

An illuminated sign having an LED as a light source as claimed. A housing has a plurality of internal surfaces wherein at least one of the internal surfaces is a translucent surface. A reflective layer covers each of said internal surfaces except the translucent surface. At least one LED is positioned between the internal surfaces such that the illumination field of the LED is in a direction substantially opposite that of the translucent surface.

LED display

The cathode for a gas discharged lamp includes gettering materials which are placed within the interior of the cathode shell. Other components may also be placed inside the cathode for continuous activation. For example, in mercury vapor lamps, a mercury amalgam is placed within the cathode. In another embodiment, a mass of electron emission assisting compound is placed within the cathode to replenish the emission assisting compound which deteriorates from the cathode.
