The device () for fast tissue processing for histological examination consists of a housing () that is covered by a transparent hood (). A baseplate () divides the device () into an upper part () and a lower part (). Several process chambers that are served by a transport mechanism () with holders () for tissue specimens are provided for on the baseplate (). At least one reservoir () is provided for in the lower part () of the device, which has a flow connection to at least one process chamber. An operating panel () allows the user to enter the appropriate data.

Device and method for rapid tissue preparations for histological investigations

To allow rapid change between the conoscopic observation method and the orthoscopic observation method in a microscope, while showing a small overall size and permitting and optically correct position of the Bertrand lens and the associated diaphragm, an additional supplementary beam path can be selectively used in addition to the main beam path. The supplementary beam path includes the Bertrand lens and the iris diaphragm and extends away from the optical axis of the microscope objective in a lateral direction.

Optical arrangement for microscopes

A method and apparatus for transferring frozen sections from a microtome or ultramicrotome to a microscope or the like without the deleterious effects of the ambient conditions. The apparatus includes a temperature regulated cooling means and protective enclosure to protect the frozen specimen during the transfer. The apparatus can be plugged into the vacuum chamber of an electron microscope and then the protective enclosure removed to present the frozen specimen for examination.
