The present disclosure is generally directed to lighting systems that enhance the distribution of light. As set forth herein, the disclosed embodiments can include a lighting device, such as a strip of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and an asymmetric total internal reflection (TIR) lens.

An optical lens and optical lighting system comprising the optical lens, the optical lens comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, one of the top surface and bottom surface having a substantially v-shaped indent, and at least one of the top surface and the bottom surface comprising a plurality of prisms. The optical lighting system comprises an assembly for receiving the optical lens, the assembly comprising a fixture body for releasably securing the optical lens, one or more LED boards, each comprising one or more LED lights, wherein the plurality of prisms are configured to direct light from the one or more LED lights in both an upward and downward distribution simultaneously.

An optical lens and optical lighting system comprising the optical lens, the optical lens comprising a top surface having a plurality of ridges and a bottom surface having a substantially v-shaped indent, wherein at least one of the top and bottom surface comprises a plurality of prisms. The optical lighting system comprises an assembly for receiving the optical lens, the assembly comprising a fixture body for releasably securing the optical lens, one or more LED boards, each comprising one or more LED lights, and a plurality of feet adjacent to the optical lens configured to hold the LED board thereon such that the LED board abuts the optical lens.

The present disclosure provides an optical system including a TIR mother lens and a secondary output lens, preferably for efficiently distributing light out of an LED track lighting system. The optical system of the present disclosure is configured to create variant beam angles from a lens assembly using the same TIR lens. Preferably, by altering the dimensions and focal lengths of the secondary output lens in a single TIR lens, the optical system can create a variety of beam angles, including, but not limited to, Spot ('SP'), Narrow Flood ('NFL'), Flood (&#x201c;FL&#x201d;), or Wide Flood (&#x201c;WFL&#x201d;) beam angles.
