Disclosed is a method, apparatus, and system for partition level restore, the operations comprising: determining a restoration source virtual machine disk image and a restoration target virtual machine disk image; determining partition information for the restoration source and target virtual machine disk images; determining whether the partition information for the restoration source virtual machine disk image matches the partition information for the restoration target virtual machine disk image; and in response to determining that the partition information for the restoration source virtual machine disk image matches the partition information for the restoration target virtual machine disk image, copying all data from a partition to be restored on the restoration source virtual machine disk image to a corresponding partition on the restoration target virtual machine disk image.

Partition level restore

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, device and computer readable medium for restoring files. The method described herein comprises: at a client, in response to receiving an instruction for restoring a set of files on a virtual machine from a backup server, obtaining a backup of a set of files from the backup server; transmitting information about the backup and a file downloading application to the virtual machine; causing the file downloading application to be executed on the virtual machine by transmitting an instruction for executing the file downloading application to the virtual machine, such that the virtual machine downloads the backup from the client based on the information about the backup.

Method, device and computer readable medium for restoring files

Disclosed is a method, apparatus, and system for performing proxy-based partition backup in a virtualized environment, the operations comprising: mounting a backup source virtual machine disk to a backup proxy; obtaining, at the backup proxy, partition information for a backup source partition on the backup source virtual machine disk; and reading, by the backup proxy, partition data of the backup source partition based on the partition information and backing up the partition data to a data store.
