Embodiments may include systems, techniques, methods, apparatus and/or device to receive an input selecting one or more areas of a display of the computing device, leaving one or more other areas of the display unselected, and to apply a masking layer to mask either pixels of the one or more selected areas or pixels of the one or more unselected areas to cause the masked pixels to be dimmed, to reduce power consumption by the display. Embodiments may further include where the one or more of the selected areas include a focus area of interest, and to apply the masking layer to mask pixels of the one or more unselected areas to cause the masked pixels to be dimmed. Embodiments may be implemented via software without directly interacting with hardware. Other embodiments may be described or claimed.

Partial panel screen dimming

A user equipment and a buffer status report (BSR) cancellation method are provided. In the method, the data duplication is activated on at least one data unit of packet data convergence protocol (PDCP). The data duplication works such that, in the carrier aggregation (CA), one data unit corresponds to at least two component carriers provided by a base station supporting integrated access and backhaul (IAB) mechanism. For each data unit, at least two BSRs are triggered, and each BSR corresponds to one logical channel. Then, at least one BSR is canceled according to a canceling condition. Accordingly, the IAB network can be applied with multiple BSR cancellation.

A transmitting direct mode communication apparatus, a receiving direct mode communication apparatus and a communication path switching method thereof are provided. The transmitting direct mode communication apparatus and the receiving direct mode communication apparatus maintain a backend network connection, and communicate with each other via a direct communication connection. The transmitting direct mode communication apparatus and the receiving direct mode communication apparatus are capable of switching the communication to backend network connection rapidly and seamlessly for transmitting data normally after the direct communication connection failed.

A small cell, a macro cell and a transmission assist method are provided. The small cell includes a transceiver and a processor. The processor generates a radio link failure (RLF) indication message when determining that an RLF count in a licensed band between the small cell and a user equipment reaches a threshold. The transceiver transmits the RLF indication message to the macro cell, and receives a modification request message from the macro cell. The modification message includes resource configuration information, and the resource configuration information indicates an unlicensed band radio resource of an unlicensed band. After confirming via the transceiver that the unlicensed band radio resource is available for data transmission with the user equipment, the processor generates a modification request acknowledge message, and transmits the modification request acknowledge message to the macro cell via the transceiver.

A wireless network system and a base station connecting method thereof are provided. The wireless network system includes a mobile apparatus and a first base station. The mobile apparatus calculates a moving speed of the mobile station. The first base station broadcasts speed threshold information of the first base station. The mobile apparatus receives the speed threshold information from the first base station, and connects with the first base station after determining that the moving speed conforms to the speed threshold information.

Wireless network system and base station connecting method thereof

A wireless communication system and an authentication method thereof are provided. The wireless communication system includes a User Equipment (UE), an Evolved Node B (eNodeB), a Home Subscriber Server (HSS), and a Mobility Management Entity (MME). Before the UE enters an Attachment Procedure, the MME is configured to acquire an Authentication Vector from the HSS in advance, and transmit, based on the Authentication Vector, a first Authentication Vector corresponding to the UE to the UE and a second Authentication Vector corresponding to the eNodeB to the eNodeB in advance. The eNodeB is configured to transmit a UE identifier to the UE. The UE is configured to complete an Authentication procedure with the eNodeB according to the UE identifier and the Authentication Vector.

Wireless communication system and authentication method thereof

A method for scheduling data burst is provided. The method is adapted for a mobile apparatus. The method includes the following steps. Firstly, a data burst is generated, and a maximum delay time is calculated according to a delay constraint of the data burst. Next, whether to receive a downlink data burst before the maximum delay time is determined. If yes, a base station is requested to schedule the data burst to at least one available scheduling time near the downlink data burst. Afterwards, the data burst is sent according to the at least one available scheduling time.
