A system includes a bacteria culture array that includes a plurality of chambers each configured to receive a portion of a sample that includes bacteria. Each individual chamber of the plurality of chambers includes a chamber opening configured to permit access of the portion of the sample to the individual chamber. The system also includes one or more sensors configured to collect data from the individual chamber. The sensors are configured to contact the sample. Additionally, the system includes a monitoring and analysis system that includes a processor configured to receive the data from the one or more sensors at a first time and a second time, compare the data received at the second time to the data received at the first time, and identify a portion of the plurality of chambers of the bacteria culture array based on the comparing.

Systems and methods for rapidly sensing microbial metabolism

A sensor assembly includes an impedance sensor element, an impedance sensor reader and a communications module. The communications module is configured to communicate with a remote computing device. The impedance sensor reader is coupled to the impedance sensor element. The impedance sensor reader includes a synthesizer and a detector. The synthesizer is configured to output an excitation signal having known values for a plurality of signal characteristics to the impedance sensor element and to generate the excitation signal based on a plurality of direct digital synthesizer (DDS) coefficients received from the remote computing device through the communications module. The detector is coupled to the impedance sensor element and configured to detect a response of the impedance sensor element to the excitation signal and determine an impedance of the impedance sensor element based at least in part on the response of the impedance sensor element to the excitation signal.

Systems and methods for networked sensor nodes

The present approach relates to avoiding azimuthal blur in a computed tomography context, such as in dual energy imaging with fast kV switching. In accordance with certain aspects, the focal spot position is held stationary in the patient coordinate system within each respective view and the detector signals within the view are summed. In one embodiment, this results in the low and high energy views within the signal being collected from the same position within the patient coordinate system.

System and method to improve spatial resolution in computed tomography

A filtering unit is presented. The filtering unit includes at least two operational amplifiers, where each of the at least two operational amplifiers includes an input end and an output end, where the input end of one operational amplifier is coupled across the corresponding input end of another operational amplifier of the at least two operational amplifiers. The filtering unit also includes a direct current link operatively coupled to the at least two operational amplifiers and at least one thermoelectric module, where each thermoelectric module includes a conducting layer, where the direct current link and at least one of the at least two operational amplifiers are operatively coupled to the at least one thermoelectric module. A filtering system is also presented.

Filtering system and an associated method thereof

The present approach relates to the use of energy-resolved, photon-counting detectors, such as CZT- or CdTe-based detectors, to acquire spectral information that is not available with conventional energy-integrating detectors. In certain embodiments, the present approach discussed reduces or eliminates spectral contamination incurred by transient signals in neighboring pixels in designs employing coincidence logic and shaping amplifiers with short shaping times.

A detector may be associated with multiple image pixels, and the detector includes, for each pixel: an X-ray sensitive element to receive X-rays; a first storage element and associated switch to capture information associated with the first energy X-ray pulses; and a second storage element and associated switch to capture information associated with the second energy X-ray pulse. A controller may synchronize the X-ray source and detector.

A system is provided that includes a controller that is configured to enable communication between one or more sensors and a processor. The controller includes a plurality of input-output (IO) ports each configured to couple to the one or more sensors. Moreover, each of the IO ports is configured to couple to a plurality of sensor types such that each IO port is configured to couple more than one sensor type. The controller also includes an interface configured to receive a selection of a selected mode from a plurality of modes each corresponding to a sensor type. Furthermore, the controller includes a switch block having a plurality of switches each configured to toggle a connection in the switch block according to the selected mode.

A system, method and computer program product are disclosed that enable providing processing instructions for updating schema. In one embodiment, the method includes obtaining an updated schema that includes an updated version of a previous schema; identifying a difference between the updated schema and the previous schema; processing the difference to create processing instructions; and providing the processing instructions for implementation into a logical processor, wherein the logical processor processes data defined using the updated schema.
