In the case of an electric hotplate (1), the profile ring (17) for supporting on the hob (2) is provided by an elastically resilient circumferential stretching and a resilient cross-sectional zone (29) with an outer ring leg (18) resiliently deflectable within close tolerances and which by a washer-like circular rim (28) forms a flat support surface (26) for support on the hob (2). The consequently cup springlike, movable seat part (25) of profile ring (17), on securing the electric hotplate (1), slides with a sliding edge (27) out of an angular position into a whole-area engagement on seat (8) of hob (2).

Electric hotplate

In a glass mounting plate, which is provided on the underside with a partly transparent and partly non-transparent mask, is fitted an electric hotplate. An illuminating chamber illuminating by a lamp is connected to its underside. The mask gives rise to a marginal area through which light shines to the outside for indicating the operating state of the hotplate. The mounting plate can also be made from non-transparent material, such as sheet metal. The light then passes through a permeable seal or other transparent mounting components.

Electric cooking means

For an electric hotplate is provided an assembly arrangement using a bearing ring, which forms a continuous, one-piece, smooth-surface top extending from the outermost circumferential area of the hotplate body located close to the cooking surface to its outer circumference or to the mounting plate and has a relatively shallow collecting depression for liquid which has flowed over between an inner and an outer ring profile. With the hotplate or bearing ring can be associated at least one shield and at least one locking and/or centering device for position fixing purposes, so that there is a simple and positionally accurate assembly. The bearing ring can also be stop-limited towards the bottom against deformation.

In an electric hotplate (1) flexible connecting leads (22), whose outer ends form connecting members (29) for connection to appliance lines, are so connected in positionally secured manner to short, bent pins (13) that the connection points or junctions (28) are directly accessible from the outside by welding tongs or the like for producing welded joints directly adjacent to an insulator (9). For the conection of these inner ends (25) to the pins (13) in such a way that they directly engage on the insulator (9), an orienting device (30) is provided as an auxiliary tool and can be oriented with a fork-like centering member (40) with respect to the insulator (9) and has orienting receptacles (42) for the engagement of end portions of the inner ends (25) of the leads (22).

Electric cooking plate

On the cover of the underside of an electric hotplate is fixed by riveting or the like a lateral connecting plate. A passage or some other functional part is so inserted in the openings of the cover and lateral connecting plate, that it is in each case positively supported on one of the two sheet metal parts by corresponding laterally oppositely displaced projections, so that it is also fixed when the two parts are connected. It forms with the parts a subassembly, which is suitable for automatic hotplate fitting.

To a lower coverplate of an electric hotplate a side plate is fitted, onto which can subsequently be mounted an insulator by means of a locking connection. The insulator receives connecting leads from the hotplate and corresponding connections, such as flat connecting tongues. As a result of the subsequent mountability of the insulator, the transportation height is reduced, and by a desired bending point, the entire connecting unit can easily be adapted to different installation shapes and heights.

An electric hotplate with a hotplate body, forming a cooking surface having a flat or shallow depression in its center, has an assembly for securing the hotplate to a hob surface and has a removable cover, such as a flat head, for providing a smooth surface at the center of the hotplate depression.

For an electric hotplate (2) is provided an assembly arrangement (1) using a bearing ring (10), which forms a continuous, one-piece, smooth-surface top extending from the outermost circumferential area of the hotplate body (23) located close to the cooking surface (24) to its outer circumference or to the mounting plate (3) and has a relatively shallow collecting depression (13) for liquid which has flowed over between an inner and an outer ring profile (11, 12). With the hotplate or bearing ring can be associated at least one shield and at least one locking and/or centering device for position fixing purposes, so that there is a simple and positionally accurate assembly. The bearing ring (10) can also be stop-limited towards the bottom against deformation.

A cooking unit includes a heater located below a hot plate and a temperature sensor, which detects the temperature of the cooking unit. A temperature control device has a switching contact which is operated by the temperature sensor and also manually to provide a sensor controlled temperature limitation cut out for at least a part of the heater.

Cooking unit with radiant heaters

In an electric hotplate (1) a hotplate body (2) is constructed in such a way that a holding element (25) provided to fix the hotplate in a hob and arranged below the hotplate can be located in a relatively small distance from the top-side respective the cooking surface (3) of the hotplate body (2). Thereby a very flat mounting arrangement is possible. For example an outer flange rim (6) of the hotplate body (2) can have a groove-like reception depression (30) for an engagement of the holding element (25), this engagement also serving a rotation prevention. It is also possible to construct the outer flange rim extremely low, e.g. in such a way that its lower edge face is located higher than the lower edge face of a central stud of the hotplate body.

In an electric hotplate (1), the hotplate body (4) has a throughbore (28) located in its central axis (10) and traversing a central stud (7) and the top surface and in which can be arranged in countersunk manner the head (26) of a fastening bolt (25) projecting over the underside of central stud (7). On the underside of the hotplate (1) is provided for the electrical connection thereof a connecting piece (16) of an electrical snap closure coupling (20), so that hotplate (1) in simple manner and with limited tool expenditure permits a rapid assembly from the top of a mounting plate (2) and, if necessary, can also be rapidly replaced.

In a cooker plate (1) connection of the particular electric hotplate (3) a window opening (19) is provided as an assembly opening in a holding part (5) substantially completely covering the same on the underside, through which can be passed a connecting piece (21) for the electrically conducting connection to the connecting members (15) of hotplate (3). This window opening (19) can be substantially completely closed with a closure (20), the latter being constructed in one piece with a ceramic insulator (22) of connecting piece (21) or can be formed by a separate component made from sheet metal or the like. This leads to a very reliable and effective closure of the cooker plate (1), also on the underside thereof.

Cooker plate

In a cooking unit (1) in the marginal region of the underside of hotplate (3) a tensile stressed support (4) is fixed immediately adjacent to the outer circumference (8) of a radiant heater (2). Support (4) engages below a cover (13) of the insulation of radiant heater (2) serving as a base plate and at least one spring (22) is arranged between a marginal strip (16) and the underengaging leg (19), so that a prestressed, closed assembly for fitting in a hob or the like is formed. Appropriately there are several closely juxtaposed, rectangular radiant heaters (4) with in each case separately switchable or regulatable heating circuits, so that at least approximately 85% of the total surface of the cooking field can be directly heated.

For the in particular fully automated electrical connection of electric hotplates (2) to connecting lines (15) a connecting piece with an insulator (18) is provided, which is provided outside two remote end faces (25, 26) with pin-like connecting parts (20, 21) at right angles to its main longitudinal direction, in such a way that they are located in crossing manner to the incoming connecting parts (16, 17) to be connected thereto and are reliably connected thereto at the junctions (22, 23) by spot welding. On the end faces (25, 26) are also provided centering recesses (32) or guiding and orienting faces (35, 36) for the incoming connecting parts (16, 17), so that a self-orienting effect is obtained on assembly.
