Online transactions are streamlined by moving pertinent transaction information forward in the buying process, so that a customer has the information when actually making a buying decision. In some implementations, a process may include generating a queue of items from previous purchase requests by a user, and presenting the queue of items on a page associated with an item available for purchase, such as an item detail page or search results page. Along with the queue, a fully landed cost of the items in the queue, may be presented on the page.

Techniques are described for automatically and dynamically determining, at the time that items are being returned from customers, how to handle the returns of the items. A variety of factors may be considered to determine appropriate item return handling for an item, including by assessing current conditions at the time of the item return. In addition, the dynamic item return handling may include selecting one of a variety of potential return locations for each item being returned and one of a variety of types of return routing for the return. After the item return handling is dynamically determined, information may be provided to the customer to facilitate the item return in the determined manner. A method, system, and computer-readable medium is described for automatically identifying incongruous item packages, such as to detect incongruities in the items that are included as contents of the item packages and/or to identify incongruities in the packaging used for the item packages. In some situations, the automatic identification of incongruous packages includes initially automatically learning appropriate values for parameters of items (e.g., item weights and/or dimensions) based on automatically measured parameters of packages including those items. Those item values can then be used to estimate corresponding parameter values of sealed packages that contain those items, and to further identify incongruous item packages whose measured parameter values do not correspond to the estimated values for those parameters. Butane-utilizing bacteria are used to degrade pollutants comprising polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). In-situ or ex-situ techniques may be used to reduce or eliminate PCB pollutants from liquid, gas and solid sources. In a preferred embodiment, PCB concentrations in various aqueous environments are reduced by contacting a contaminated water source with butane-utilizing bacteria in the presence of oxygen to degrade the PCB by cometabolism or direct metabolism.
