Embodiments of systems and methods for monitoring use of an orthopedic device are at least disclosed. In some embodiments, the system can include an orthopedic device, a housing, and a controller. The orthopedic device can provide support to a limb of an individual. The orthopedic device can include a magnet configured to generate a magnetic field. The housing can attach to the individual, and the housing can support a magnetometer configured to generate a signal responsive to the magnetic field. The controller can determine from the signal whether the individual is using the orthopedic device to provide support to the limb and accordingly output usage indications.

System for offloading a limb

A system can include excitation pads that can apply an excitation signal to tissue of a patient. The excitation pads can be connected to an electronic circuit that communicates the excitation signal to the excitation pads. The system can include a measurement sensor that can measure voltage of the tissue. The system can include a controller that can determine impedance of the tissue. The controller can be in communication with the excitation pads, the electronic circuit, and the measurement sensor. The controller can generate the excitation signal. The controller can obtain a current measurement of the excitation signal after it has been communicated through at least a portion of the electronic circuit. The current measurement can correspond to the excitation signal before it is applied to the tissue. The controller can determine impedance of the tissue based on the voltage measurement and the current measurement of the excitation signal.

Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy devices, systems and methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, a negative pressure wound therapy device includes a negative pressure source configured to provide negative pressure to a wound via a fluid flow path, a power source configured to power the negative pressure source, and a charging circuit configured to monitor a temperature of the power source and charge the power source. The charging circuit can be further configured to in response to a determination that the temperature of the power source is below a temperature threshold, provide a first charging power to the power source. In some embodiments, a system includes a pump assembly and a wound dressing configured to be positioned over a wound. The system can be configured to efficiently deliver negative pressure and to detect and indicate presence of conditions, such as a blockage in a fluid flow path. Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a housing, a negative pressure source, a canister, an antenna, and one or more controllers. The negative pressure source can provide negative pressure via a fluid flow path to a wound dressing. The canister can be positioned in the fluid flow path and collect fluid removed from the wound dressing. The antenna can be supported by the housing and wirelessly communicate with an electronic device. The antenna can be oriented in the housing to face downward toward the ground when the negative pressure source is providing negative pressure. The one or more controllers can activate and deactivate the negative pressure source and transmit first data to the electronic device using the antenna or receive second data from the electronic device using the antenna.

Construction and protection of components in negative pressure wound therapy systems

A negative pressure wound therapy system can include a reduced pressure wound therapy device and a wound therapy monitoring device configured to emit an indication when it detects that at least one parameter associated with the provision of negative pressure wound therapy is outside an operational range. The wound therapy monitoring device can operate in a low power mode in which the at least one parameter is periodically monitored. The reduced pressure wound therapy device can be configured to detect the indication and selectively generate an alarm. Embodiments of delivering reduced pressure wound therapy are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system includes a reduced pressure wound therapy device and a remote computer. The device can be configured to apply reduced pressure to a wound of a patient according to a default reduced pressure therapy prescription. The device can be configured to monitor usage data and transmit the usage data to the remove computer for determining compliance with a reduced therapy prescription. In some cases, non-compliance can be determined due to change of the prescription from the default prescription to a prescription more suitable for treating the wound. A non-compliance notification can be transmitted to the device. The device settings can be updated to the current prescription.

Systems and methods for delivering prescribed wound therapy

Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy devices and methods for controlling and operating such devices are disclosed. A negative pressure wound therapy apparatus can include a housing, a negative pressure source, a pressure sensor, and an electronic control circuitry. The negative pressure source can couple via a fluid flow path to a wound dressing covering a wound and provide negative pressure to the wound. The electronic controller circuitry can operate the negative pressure source, detect a presence of blockage in the fluid flow path based on comparing one or more peak-to-peak measurments of pressure in the fluid flow path measured by the pressure sensor to a threshold, and adjust the threshold responsive to a determination that the housing is positioned in a moving transporter. The moving transporter can be an automobile, train, or airplane.

Systems and methods for operating negative pressure wound therapy devices

Systems and methods for component stress relief are disclosed. In some embodiments, a wound dressing includes a substantially stretchable wound contact layer including a wound facing side and a non-wound facing side. The wound facing side or the non-wound facing side of the wound contact layer can support a plurality of electronic components and a plurality of electronic connections that connect at least some of the plurality of the electronic components. The wound facing side or the non-wound facing side of the wound contact layer can include a region of substantially non-stretchable material that supports at least one electronic component from the plurality of electronic components. The at least one electronic component can be attached to the wound contact layer with adhesive material. Such arrangement can securely position the at least one electronic component and limit the mechanical strain on the at least one electronic component supported by the region.
