A device for determining a spindle status of a spindle of a machine tool includes a detector for detecting sensor data of the spindle for a defined time window. A processing unit analyses the sensor data through artificial intelligence by calculating a defined feature of the sensor data for the defined time window and determining a spindle status from the sensor data. An output member outputs the determined spindle status.

An electric machine includes a protective isolation module which is accommodated in a machine housing. The protective isolation module includes an input interface which is electrically connected to a temperature sensor to receive an electrical sensor signal generated by the temperature sensor as a measure of a machine temperature of the electric machine, an output interface which is galvanically isolated from the input interface to realize a secure electrical protective isolation of the output interface from a voltage flashover of a machine winding in the sensor power circuit, and a supply interface, via which the protective isolation module can be supplied with electrical energy from a power supply for the electric machine. An electronic control system receives an output signal that replicates the sensor signal via the output interface for evaluation in the electronic control system.

A rolling-bearing mounted apparatus includes a shaft, and at least one rolling bearing supporting the shaft in a section of the apparatus. The rolling bearing includes at least one inner ring arranged on the shaft, an outer ring arranged on the section, and rolling elements arranged between the inner and outer rings. A sleeve is provided between the outer ring and the section to permit an axial and/or radial displacement of the outer ring of the rolling bearing when exposed to an axially and/or radially directed force. The sleeve has at least two rows of recesses, with hollow-drilled rolling elements being arranged in the recesses of the sleeve.

In a diagnostic method for at least one ball bearing, in particular for an angular-contact ball bearing for bearing a rapidly rotating spindle, mechanical vibration caused by the respective angular-contact ball bearing is acquired by at least one vibration sensor and outputted as a corresponding vibration signal. At least one bearing characteristic, fundamental kinematic frequency dependent on a current bearing rotational frequency is determined by computation. A corresponding bearing frequency in a measurement frequency spectrum of the respective vibration signal is determined by measurement. A first diagnostic message is output when at least one of the determined bearing frequencies deviates by a respective prescribed frequency deviation from the corresponding computational fundamental kinematic frequency.
