Methods and apparatus for configuring a portable communication device are disclosed. The methods include receiving an incoming audio signal, adjusting the incoming signal audio level based on a volume control setting, generating an ultrasonic audio signal having an audio level independent of the volume control setting, mixing the incoming signal with the ultrasonic signal to generate a mixed audio signal, outputting the mixed signal to a remote audio device, receiving a remote audio signal from the remote device, and comparing the remote signal audio level to one or more thresholds to determine whether to output a compensated audio signal to a speaker. The remote signal may be detected by the remote device in response to sound output from the remote device based on the mixed signal, and the compensated signal audio signal may be adjusted based on an estimated loss in loudness associated with the remote signal audio level.

Methods and apparatus for low audio fallback from remote devices using associated device speaker

A method and personal stereo speaker system is provided for providing audio to a user. Speakers provide audio to the ears of a user. The speakers are preferably mounted on the shoulders of the user. The audio emanating from the speakers has a beam angle and an audio level. When the system detects that the head of the user has moved, either side-to-side, up and down, or rotationally, or that the user has commended moving, a controller changes at least one of the beam angle and the audio level in response to the movement. This improves the quality of the sound heard by the user and also keeps the privacy of the audio optimized.

The watering device comprises a deflector having an uneven curved surface designed to cause liquid meeting the deflector to reach a distance that changes respective of the uneven surface to cover an irrigation area; a spiral sector object connected to the deflector and providing an adjustable spray orifice for adjusting an irrigation pattern of the watering device; and a two-diameter tubular body connected to the spiral sector object and allowing the liquid to flow from a pipe to the uneven curved surface of the deflector.

Beneficially, the channels have coolant entry regions in at least two different regions () of the block to direct a plurality of coolant flows into the interior of the block from different directions. Also described is a method of cooling a device such as a processor of a mobile computer used in a vehicle by placing the heat sink or more than one of the heat sinks adjacent to the device to be cooled, preferably with a region in which the venturi narrowing of the coolant channels is provided close to the hottest part of the device to be cooled.
