In some embodiments, a method for processing a safe transaction includes receiving at a safe a first deposit of currency from a first user. Identification information is received from the first user. The identification information identifies the first user, an amount of the first deposit, and an account of the first user with a first financial institution. Transaction information is transmitted to the first financial institution. The transaction information provides information to the first financial institution of the first deposit to facilitate the first financial institution crediting the account of the first user.

Smart safe for multiple users

Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for assisting a consumer during a transaction with a vendor at a point of sale by providing transaction information to the consumer via consumer-readable communications. In one embodiment, a payment terminal proximate the point of sale communicates a transaction information signal to the mobile device. The mobile device communicates the transaction information to the consumer in a consumer-readable format such as audible sound waves. In some embodiments, the consumer-readable communications include requests for consumer input. The consumer input is received by an input device proximate the mobile device and communicated to the payment terminal. In some embodiments consumer input is received by the payment terminal as well as the mobile device, and in some embodiments, the consumer chooses whether to use the mobile device as an interface or only to use the payment terminal.

Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for assisting a consumer during a transaction with a vendor at a point of sale by providing transaction information to the consumer in an audible format. The system includes a consumer device and a payment terminal located proximate the point of sale. The consumer device, either a mobile device carried by the consumer or an immobile device also located proximate the point of sale, communicates with the payment terminal and receives transaction information such as product identity or amount information. The consumer device then produces sound waves audible to the consumer based on the communicated transaction information using one or more private and/or public listening devices. This audible transaction process can be performed automatically during a transaction or can be implemented based on consumer preference.

Apparatus and methods for distributing coins in a coin distribution system. Coins may be distributed among members of a coin consortium. Coins may be shipped from a first coin consortium member to a second coin consortium member based on a requirement to adjust a first coin inventory of the first consortium member and a second coin inventory of the second consortium member, respectively. Neither the first consortium member nor the second consortium member is the U.S. Federal Reserve Branch. Coins may be shipped from the second coin consortium member to the first coin consortium member based on a second requirement to adjust the first and second coin inventories.

An aspect of the invention provides methods and computer media to support on-demand transportation shipments, supply order requests, change orders, and reports. A bank and business partners may coordinate so that a client can schedule pickups of deposits, delivery of change orders, transportation shipments, and reports. When at least one deposit is created at a banking center for one or more banking customers and an aggregate deposit amount exceeds a predetermined amount, an on-demand pickup of the deposits at the banking center is automatically requested. Also, an on-demand pickup of deposits may be automatically requested at a bank customer's location when the aggregate deposit amount exceeds a predetermined threshold. Moreover, an on-demand change, supply order, or report order may be automatically submitted when available cash is below a predetermined threshold. The available cash may be based on a total amount of cash or on a currency denomination amount.

Embodiments of the present invention provide currency solutions for the visually impaired by, for example, providing automated teller machines (ATMs) or other cash dispensers configured to dispense folded bills to the customer. The bills are folded based on denomination to allow the customer receiving the bills from the cash dispenser to be able to identify the denomination of each bill. In some embodiments, the cash dispenser is configured to automatically identify whether the customer prefers to receive folded bills and, in some embodiments, the cash dispenser is configured to fold and dispense bills according to customer preferences.

Embodiments of the present invention provide apparatuses, methods, and computer program products that allow for interaction with a user at an automated teller machine (ATM) based on pre-established user preferences. For example, an ATM is provided having: (1) a user interface configured to receive user identifying information from a user; and (2) a processing device operatively coupled to the user interface and configured to use the user identifying information to determine a pre-established user preference, wherein the processing device is further configured to use the user interface to interact with the user based at least partially on the pre-established user preference.

An end-to-end currency handling and management system and method include a recycler system configured to receive currency, deposit the currency into a desired account and make the currency immediately available. The currency may, in one or more examples, belong to an employee at a business. In such instances, the recycler system may be configured to deposit the currency into an account, such as a pre-paid cash card account, designated by the employee. This allows an employee to avoid carrying large amounts of cash which may lead to loss or theft. At the same time, the deposited currency would be available for use by the business for conducting other transactions.

Cash handling facilities, such as cash vaults, receive and process large quantities of cash. The cash handling facility may have a plurality of custody points at which the amount of cash being processed is verified, counted, stored, or otherwise processed. Cash handling personnel that are handling the cash may be verified, detected, or otherwise documented as handling the cash. Automatic identification techniques may be implemented to track the cash and cash handling personnel at various custody points within the cash handling facility. A centralized tracking system may use the information obtained at each of the custody points to track, count, and verify the cash while it is located within the cash handling facility.

An armored carrier or other transport entity may scan a remotely-readable identification tag, such as a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag, of each monetary package being picked up and/or delivered. The scanner used by the armored carrier may notify the armored carrier if one of the monetary packages goes out of range without being checked out, such as within a period of time. Also, if that monetary package is not returned within range within a particular period of time, the scanner may automatically notify a centralized system. The scanner may further be aware of scheduled monetary packages to be picked up. If not all of the monetary packages as expected are picked up, then the scanner may also notify the armored carrier.

A monetary package capable of detecting and communicating tampering is described. The monetary package may comprise a container having a volume configured to hold monetary items such as currency, checks, and negotiable instruments, a sensor configured to detect an opening of the container, a device coupled to the sensor and configured to store data responsive to the sensor detecting the opening of the container, and a transmitter configured to wirelessly send the stored data.
