A processing module determines a performance condition of a network and communicates with one or more nodes at a nearby network based on the performance condition of the network.

Noise reduction between proximate networks

Methods and systems are provided for telephone line access with crosstalk mitigation. Electronic equipment located at a first location may include a plurality of first transceiver devices, with each first transceiver device configured for coupling to a respective one of a plurality of telephone lines bundled together in a same telephone cable, to connect to a respective one of a plurality of second transceiver devices at a second location. Each first transceiver device controls communication over the respective telephone line, with controlling including assigning separate time slots for uplink communication and downline communication; and coordinating communication with other ones of the plurality of first transceiver devices, with the coordinating including aligning use of the time slots. Each transceiver device may include a coupling circuitry to connect to the respective telephone line, an analog front end; and a controller that controls communications over the telephone line.

Communication system for telephone line access with crosstalk mitigation

A method for configuring transmission power spectral density (PSD) levels for a plurality of communication lines is described. A first set of configurations for the plurality of communication lines is determined based on a set of channel coefficients that indicates a crosstalk relationship and a set of noise coefficients that indicates background noise of each receiver. Each configuration of the first set indicates respective transmission PSD levels for transmitters associated with the plurality of communication lines. The respective transmission PSD levels are selected from a set of transmission PSD levels. A configuration is selected from the first set based on respective estimated transmission rates of the plurality of communication lines. Each transmission PSD level of a communication line indicated by the selected configuration corresponds to a transmission capacity of the communication line. The transmitters associated with the plurality of communication lines are caused to operate using the selected configuration.

Transmission power level configuration for crosstalk relationship

A method for allocating time slots of a shared schedule for a plurality of communication lines having a crosstalk relationship is described. A first number of allocated time slots is allocated, according to respective priorities, corresponding to a first time interval for first data to be transmitted. The first data is transmitted. A second number of allocated time slots is allocated, corresponding to a second time interval for second data to be transmitted. The second number is larger than the first number if an allocation increase threshold has been met, based on utilization of a first time slot having a lowest priority of the first number of allocated time slots. The second number is smaller than the first number if an allocation decrease threshold has been met, based on utilization of a second time slot having a higher priority than the first time slot.

Shared schedule time slot allocation

A plurality of resource requests and a plurality of estimated link capacities are received at a first device from other devices coupled to a network. Each of the plurality of resource requests is indicative of a requested data rate for a different one of a plurality of communication links. Each of the plurality of estimated link capacities is indicative of an available data rate for the different ones of the plurality of communication links. An allocation of time slots within a first time interval is determined at the first device, based on at least the plurality of resource requests and the plurality of estimated link capacities, according to a branch and bound algorithm. At least some of the other devices of the plurality of devices are caused to communicate via the plurality of communication links according to the determined allocation of time slots.

Non-convex optimization of resource allocation in multi-user networks with time-variant capacity

The present disclosure includes systems and techniques relating to wired communication channels, such as telephone lines in a bundled telephone cable. In some implementations, a system includes telephone lines bundled together; electronic equipment including a first transceiver device for each of the telephone lines, which is configured to coordinate transmissions over a respective telephone line; and second transceiver devices coupled respectively with the telephone lines such that each second transceiver device is respectively paired with a first transceiver device; each pair of first and second transceiver devices is configured to communicate over the respective telephone line connecting the pair using a Medium Access Control (MAC) cycle split into predefined time slots for downstream communication and upstream communication; and the first transceiver devices are synchronized with each other to align the MAC cycle and the predefined time slots across the telephone lines.

One embodiment relates to a security apparatus. The apparatus includes a security controller. The security controller is within a secure domain. The controller is configured to receive a trigger event from a first device outside the secure domain and a second trigger event. The controller is configured to automatically generate a secure password from a provisional password using a secure password provisioning protocol in response to the first trigger event and the second trigger event. The controller is also configured to pair the first device with the secure domain by establishing secure communications using the secure password.
