Changing of a horizontal roll in a horizontal roll stand involving readjustment of an amount of pressing is to be done readily and promptly. In order to achieve this, a horizontal roll standwith a pair of built-in upper and lower horizontal rollsis configured to retreat toward one side across a forming line. A fixed standstands upright on a counter-retreating side of the forming line. An overhang partof the fixed standjutting out over the forming line is provided with a pressure devicethat applies a pressing force to the horizontal rolls. The horizontal roll standincludes a horizontal roll housingwith an opened top, receives the pressing force from the pressure devicevia the opened top, and retreats to the outside of the forming line while the pressure deviceis left on the forming line. The overhang partof the fixed standis engaged with the horizontal roll housingof the horizontal roll standto support the horizontal roll housingin the forming line.

To manufacture a high-quality welded pipe, there is provided a welded pipe manufacturing apparatus for manufacturing a welded pipe by bending a metal plate and welding butting end portions of the metal plate. The welded pipe manufacturing apparatus includes a bending unit that bends the metal plate, a light emitter that emits directional light to an inner surface of the metal plate bent by the bending unit, an image capturing unit that captures light emitted by the light emitter and reflected by a surface of the metal plate, and an adjustment assistance unit that assists adjustment of the bending unit in accordance with a shape of the reflected light.

A pipe cutting machine comprises: rotary blades in a pair, with a plane at a right angle to a center line of a pipe, the rotary blades being arranged to face each other on both sides of a y axis in such a manner that blade edges of the rotary blades overlap each other in an x-axis direction; a straightforward driving mechanism that drives the rotary blades straightforward in opposite directions of a y-axis direction so as to make the rotary blades pass each other on the x axis and in the vicinity of the x axis; and power direction conversion mechanisms that move the rotary blades outwardly to get farther from the y axis for avoiding interference between the blade edges when the rotary blades pass each other on the x axis and in the vicinity of the x axis.

An object is to prolong the life of a ring tool, and improve the productivity of a welded pipe. A ring tool unit is held in a downstream-side end portion of a mandrel to be inserted into a welded pipe currently being manufactured from the upstream side of a welding position, and is used as a cutting tool for continuously cutting a bead produced on the inner surface of the welded pipe, wherein the ring tool unit is formed by fitting a ring tool having a ring-like blade in a sleeve having a circular hole for holding the outer circumference of the ring tool.

A squeeze roll stand includes a combination of a fixed portion installed at a joint position of an electric resistance welded pipe manufacturing line, in which squeeze rolls excluding left and right upper rolls are detachably assembled, and a movable portion overlying the fixed portion, inside which left and right upper rolls are detachably assembled, the movable portion being inclined, taking a back surface downstream side as a fulcrum point, toward a same side from an assembling position on the fixed portion to a retreat position to open an upper part of the fixed portion. The movable portion is driven and reciprocated between the assembling position and the retreat position with cylinder type actuators as a drive mechanism. At the retreat position, the movable portion overlies a bead grinding device arranged on the back surface downstream side of the fixed portion with a front surface facing upward.

Squeeze roll stand

An object of the present invention is to provide a forming method and a forming machine in which in forming e.g., a round steel pipe, predetermined forming can be performed with less additional deformation imparted to a workpiece without deteriorating the productivity of the conventional roll forming, thereby manufacturing a high-quality product with high dimension precision. To achieve this object, the present invention provides a forming method and a forming machine, which adopt a rotating unit which rotatably moves on an endless track a die train having dies with outwardly directed and swingable forming passes in a breakdown step at an early forming stage, and in which the forming pass of each die holds the edge of the workpiece to rotatably move the die by changing the die to a predetermined angle, thereby realizing bending, so that problems due to twisting onto forming rolls and high locally-caused contact stress can be greatly reduced.

A forming apparatus and method for forming a sectional profile of round tubing, angled tubing or open forming stock without losing the manufacturability of conventional roll forming The forming apparatus comprises individual shoe blocks having a pass on their rotating curved faces. The shoe blocks can be moved in the circumferential direction on an endless track, and are connected to provide the same curvature radius and length as a required arc segment of a virtual large-diameter circle.

A rotary face plate is simply configured by including only a machine mechanism for rotating it on its axis. In order to achieve the configuration, a swing arm for a rotary blade is mounted on one side of the rotary face plate whereas a driving motor and a swing motor for the rotary blade in each of the swing arms are independently mounted on each of the swing arms on the other side. One side has only a function of rotating and cutting on the boundary of the face plate, and therefore, cutting chips can be remarkably readily removed. Only a rotating motor for a drive source is mounted on the other side. As a consequence, a round tube or a square tube having a square cross section can be cut only by controlling the motor for rotating the rotary face plate at a required angle.

An object of the invention is to provide a device and a method for controlling a welding angle which is capable of resolving restrictions occurred when a conventional float type welding angle control device is used to manufacture a welded pipe, and giving full play to the ability of such a float type welding angle control device, by adopting a new mechanism for supporting and adjusting a fin roll. When the welding angle is controlled by inserting the fin roll between opposing edges of a band steel at a position located in an upstream side of squeeze rolls, the fin roll is attached to a link mechanism in which two arms are coupled so as to be pivotable within a plane defined by a pipe manufacturing line direction and a perpendicular direction thereof, and positions of gripping points of the arms are changed to adjust a position of the fin roll within the plane. Not only the mechanism of the device is simplified and an installation space can be reduced, but also the usage environment of the device and burdens for the maintenance work are considerably improved.

Device and method for controlling welding angle

Roll forming a round tube to a square tube without applying excessive load to the raw tube scheduled portions to become corner portions and shoulder portions. This invention structures the curvature of the rotation axis direction of the forming roll surface in a way that in relation to other raw tube locations (straightening precedes for the raw tube locations adjacent to the corner portion scheduled locations of the square tube. It disposes stands of four-direction roll structure at the forming roll stand furthest upstream and furthest downstream sides and disposes stands of upper-lower and left-right two-direction roll structure between the upstream and downstream roll stands, and by adopting forming roll with a structure having a curvature for constricting the raw tube locations to become the shoulder portions adjacent to the corner portions of the square tube at a smaller curvature than that constricting the raw tube portions to become the side portion centers of the square tube cross section.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a novel roll-forming method for steel pipes and equipment for same with which (1) the evidence that forming work in the FF forming method is mainly carried out at the cluster forming portion showing the poor formability is modified and improved without any deteriorating the advantage of the common-utilization of rolls in the FF forming method which employs basically the circular-bend method, and (2) the forming function at the breakdown forming portion is enhanced. Accordingly, the pinch-point formed by the upper and lower rolls is set at a boundary area between the target forming zone in the material's width direction and previously-formed zone or un-formed zone. The target forming zone is wound around a certain caliber of the upper roll on the bend-inner side, and bend-formed in such a way that the target forming zone is almost in non-contact with the lower roll as a result, the formability is remarkably improved and occurrences of roll flaws and roll marks or buckling can be prevented.
