As part of a communication session, a wireless source device can transmit audio and video data to a wireless sink device, and the wireless sink device can transmit user input data received at the wireless sink device back to the wireless source device. In this manner, a user of the wireless sink device can control the wireless source device and control the content that is being transmitted from the wireless source device to the wireless sink device. The user input data transmitted by the wireless sink device can be input data obtained at a third party device and forwarded to the wireless source device.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing multi-view (MV) video data via a wireless network. For example, the apparatus may include a processor configured to determine at least a first channel quality estimate of a communication channel of the wireless network used to transmit first MV video data. The apparatus may include an input/output (I/O) controller configured to receive a binocular disparity error estimate indicative of a rendering of the first MV video data. The processor may be configured to determine whether to continue to at least one of capture, encode, and/or transmit MV video data based at least in part on the first channel quality estimate and/or the binocular disparity error estimate.

System and method for multi-view video in wireless devices

A source device of a wireless display system composites display content of a plurality of layers to form composite display content. The source device may output the composite display content for display. Furthermore, the source device may generate a transport stream comprising a plurality of sub-streams. Each respective sub-stream of the plurality of sub-streams comprises data representing the display content of a respective layer of the plurality of layers. The source device may wirelessly transmit the transport stream to one or more sink devices for display by the one or more sink devices.

As part of a communication session, a wireless source device can transmit audio and video data to a wireless sink device, and the wireless sink device can transmit user inputs received at the wireless sink device back to the wireless source device. In this manner, a user of the wireless sink device can control the wireless source device and control the content that is being transmitted from the wireless source device to the wireless sink device. As part of transmitting user input to the source device, the sink device can generate a data packet with a data packet header that includes a timestamp flag indicating the presence of a timestamp field, and the source device can process the data packet based on a timestamp in the timestamp field.

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and devices are described for synchronizing timing of wireless streaming transmissions to multiple sink devices. A source device may identify timing information associated with a common timing source, e.g., a media timing source at Multimedia layer or a Wi-Fi timing source, and send the timing information to the sink devices. The sink devices may receive the timing information and determine a composite timing delay, e.g., a wireless transmission link delay, an internal interface link delay, or combinations thereof. The source device may stream the content to the sink devices which may use a locally adjusted timing signal to synchronize the presentation of the content.

Techniques for synchronizing timing of wireless streaming transmissions to multiple sink devices

In one example, this disclosure describes a method that includes, in an example, determining, by a source device, that display data rendered by the source device comprises one or more displayable graphical objects. The method also includes in response to determining an event, selecting, by the source device, a set of the one or more graphical objects for rendering at a sink device. The method also includes generating, by the source device, configuration data based at least in part on the set of the one or more graphical objects, wherein the configuration data is usable by the sink device to render representations of graphical objects in the set of one or more graphical objects based at least in part on one or more display parameters associated with the sink device. The method also includes sending, by the source device, the configuration data to the sink device.

Synchronization and control of overlay contents for video streaming in a wireless communication system

The system, method, and apparatus may include a mobile terminal wirelessly connected to a sensor platform. The sensor platform may send a constant awake message to the mobile terminal that prevents the mobile terminal from entering a sleep mode until the sensor platform sends a release signal to the mobile terminal.

Power management in device to device communications

Techniques are described for tunneling high definition multimedia interface (HDMI) data over a wireless connection from an HDMI-capable source device to a client device that is physically connected to an HDMI-capable sink device via an HDMI connector. The techniques enable wireless transmission of HDMI data without video compression by using an encapsulation scheme that maps HDMI audio and video channels into a transport stream format and maps HDMI side channels into an IP datagram for transmission over the wireless connection. The source device may operate as an HDMI controller and perform HDMI-based data, control, and security processing required for HDMI connectivity with the sink device via the client device. The client device, therefore, may be a 'dummy' client device that does not perform HDMI-based processing, but acts as a wireless HDMI bridge to pass the HDMI data between the source device and the sink device.

A device for transmitting data to a network includes a source subsystem and a communication subsystem. The source subsystem generates a first data packet that includes first timing information that is based on a time that the first data packet is generated. The first timing information is generated responsive to a first timing generator included in the source subsystem. The communication subsystem is coupled to the source subsystem via one or more abstraction layers and is configured to modify the first data packet to generate a modified data packet for transmission to the network. The modified data packet includes the first timing information and second timing information that is based on a time that the modified data packed is transmitted. The communications subsystem includes a second timing generator that is linked to the first timing generator through the one or more abstraction layers to generate the second timing information.

An apparatus and method for session management and control procedures for supporting multiple groups of sink devices in a peer-to-peer wireless display system are described. One implementation may include an apparatus configured to transmit multimedia content to a plurality of sink devices. The apparatus may comprise a processor configured to connect to each of the sink devices with a Wi-Fi peer-to-peer connection. The processor may further be configured to receive capability information from each of the sink devices. The processor may further be configured to generate a control message including a group session ID and a transport port number. The processor may further be configured to determine a set of streaming parameters for the sink devices. The processor may further be configured to transmit, using the transport port number and according to the set of streaming parameters, the particular multimedia content to each of the Wi-Fi peer-to-peer connected sink devices.
