A system and method for producing a comestible baked product in complex shapes using upright cast molding wherein a portion of the interior cavity forms a baking cup which can optionally receive a liner. Embodiments generally include a first part and second part that are configured to be joined together along a seam. When configured, an outer surface is created and an inner surface cavity which creates a contiguous internal hollow space in the form of a three-dimensional shape is formed. A portion of this internal hollow space forms a cup. The cup can be circular shaped or a different shape entirely such as a square. The mold may provide a means for supporting the mold in its designated position. Other embodiments may include a single piece that is attachable to the rim of a cup of a multi-cup baking pan or to a single stand-alone cup.

Other embodiments may include a single piece that is attachable to the rim of a cup of a multi-cup baking pan or to a single stand-alone cup.

A two piece mold assembly is comprised of flexible material, suitable for baking wherein the two pieces are joined together in a vertical orientation or a stacked orientation and held together by an interlocking seal structure. Once joined together, the mold assembly defines an interior cavity defining a shape for a baked comestible product. A comestible substance is injected into the interior cavity through an aperture in the top of the mold assembly that is either defined by one or more of the two pieces. The interlocking seal prevents egression of injected liquid from extruding outside the mold assembly. After baking, the pieces of the mold can be peeled away from the comestible product at the interlocking seal structure.

A mold assembly including at least three pieces that are joined together by a seal. Once joined together, the mold assembly defines an interior cavity defining a shape for a baked comestible product. A comestible substance is injected into the interior cavity through an opening in the mold assembly that is either defined by one of the three pieces or by an opening in the seal between two or more of the three pieces. After baking, the pieces of the mold can be peeled away from the comestible product by breaking the seal.

When the mold is placed into an oven, the substance may begin to melt and as such, the edible mold begins to melt or dissolve around the baking substance. In such circumstances the comestible product includes an interior and an exterior shell or veneer.

The mold assembly defines an interior cavity for receiving a substance to be baked into a comestible product and this interior cavity defines a shape for the baked comestible. This mold assembly can be peeled away from the comestible one piece at a time. The mold assembly can have an aperture or one of the seams between the pieces of the mold assembly can be opened to receive the substance. The mold assembly may have one or more vent holes for heat release.

Other embodiments may include a single piece that is attachable to the rim of a cup of a multi-cup baking cup pan or a to a single, stand-alone cup pan. The interior of the mold can receive a baking cup liner.

A liner that can be used for baking. The liner includes an aperture such that the liner can be placed into a mold that also includes an aperture such that the aperture of the baking liner and the mold are at least partially aligned and, a substance to be baked can be injected into the mold through the aperture of the mold and the aperture of the liner. The liner may include one or more wings that at least partially cover the aperture and that can be folded through the aperture of the mold and against a surface of the mold to hold the liner in place. After baking, the one or more wings can be folded back over the aperture to at least partially cover the aperture.
