A first bed that includes a first mattress, first pressure sensor, first acoustic sensor, and first controller configured to receive first pressure readings and first acoustic readings. The first controller is further configured to transmit the first pressure readings and the first acoustic readings to a remote server. The system further includes a second bed that includes a second mattress, a second pressure sensor, a second acoustic sensor and a second controller configured to run the received physiological event classifiers on second pressure readings and on second acoustic readings in order to collect one or more physiological event votes from the running physiological event classifiers and operate the bed system according to the indicated physiological event.

Bed having physiological event detecting feature

Cardiac data defining at least inter-beat interval (IBI) sequences is received. Tagging data that defines tags of sleep-states for the IBI sequences is received. A sleep-state classifier is generated using the cardiac data and the tagging data, the generating may include: extracting the IBI sequences from the cardiac data; training a convolutional neural network (CNN) using as input the cardiac data and the tagging data to generate intermediate data; and iteratively training a recurrent neural network (RNN) configured to produce state data as output, the iterative training of the RNN using i) the intermediate data as an initial input and ii) the intermediate data and a previous state data as subsequent input.

Determining real-time sleep states using machine learning techniques

A sensing unit is configured to generate pressure readings from a phenomena within a sleep environment and to generate temperature readings from a sensed temperature. A processing unit is configured to select a thermoregulation adjustment and to alter a thermal property of a sleep environment based on the selected thermoregulation adjustment.

Bed having features for improving a sleeper's body thermoregulation during sleep

A bed has a mattress. A sensor is configured to sense sleep readings of a user sleeping on the bed. An automation controller is configured to transmit the sleep readings to a cloud service. Hardware hosting the cloud service is configured to compare the sleep readings with trend data in order to generate adjustments to the user's sleep environment.
