An apparatus for guiding and braking an elevator system traveling body movable along a guide track includes a holder fastened to the body, a guide device and a braking device. The holder transmits guiding forces between the guide device, guided on at least one track surface in the longitudinal direction, and the body. The guide device is held on and is elastically movable relative to the holder transverse to the longitudinal direction by at least a predetermined tolerance distance. The braking device includes a carrier and a braking element movable between a deactivated configuration, in which a braking surface of the braking element is laterally spaced apart from the guide track, and an activated configuration, in which the braking surface abuts the guide track, in a reversible manner by an activation distance transverse to the guide track. The carrier of the braking device is rigidly coupled to the guide device.

Apparatus for guiding and braking a travelling body of an elevator system, which body is to be moved along a guide track

A brake device for braking an elevator installation traveling body movable along a guide rail includes a holder mounting a brake element having a brake surface movable relative to the holder between a freewheel position and a braking position. In a deactivated configuration, a pretensioning element does not exert any force moving the brake element towards the braking position, and in an activated configuration exerts such force. In a retaining state, a release element retains the pretensioning element in the deactivated configuration, and when activated into a released state, the release element changes the pretensioning element into the activated configuration. In an unactuated state, a friction-generating element does not abut the guide rail and, in an actuated state generates friction by abutting the guide rail to exert a force on the brake element and force the brake element towards the freewheel position.

Brake device, e.g. with an eccentric element, for braking a traveling body that can be moved in a guided manner along a guide rail in a movement direction

A brake device for braking a traveling body movable along a guide rail in a movement direction includes a holder mounting a brake element that has a brake surface directed toward the guide rail, the brake element being movable relative to the holder between a free-running position and a braking position. A pretensioning element is activated to exert a force that moves the brake element toward the braking position. A release element holds the pretensioning element in a holding state and is activated into a released state to reconfigure the pretensioning element from a deactivated configuration into the activated configuration. A pressing element in an actuated state generates a force on the brake element in a direction toward the guide rail to enable a reset of the brake device.

Brake device, e.g. with a wedge-shaped brake element, for braking a travelling body that can be moved in a guided manner along a guide rail in a movement direction

A method and a catching device are used to catch a traveling body in an elevator system wherein traveling body is movable along a rail. The catching device includes a first braking element, a second braking element, a first guide element, a second guide element and an actuating element. The first braking element and the second braking element are brought into contact with the rail for braking. A first linear bearing is formed between the first braking element and the first guide element and a second linear bearing is formed between the second braking element and the second guide element. Both guide elements are moved between a rest position and a braking initial position, the actuating element moving the two guide elements from the rest position into the braking initial position.

Electronic catching device that can be easily reset

A safety brake includes a first brake element, a first guide element, and an actuating element. The first brake element is mounted in a displaceable manner in a linear bearing on the first guide element. The first guide element can be moved between a rest position and a braking initial position. The actuating element is designed to move the first guide element from the rest position into the braking initial position, more particularly to activate the safety brake. The first brake element can carry out a braking movement from the braking initial position into a braking position. The braking movement returns the first guide element to the rest position. The first guide element is guided on a first parallelogram guide.

Safety brake for an elevator

A brake unit for a safety brake of an elevator system has a rolling element on a rolling disk, which rolling element rolls on a stationary rolling track of a braking and guiding rail at least in some sections in the event of an activation of the safety brake. A brake lining of the brake unit interacts with a stationary braking track on the rail as a result of the rolling of the rolling element on the rolling track. At least one marking element on the rolling element produces a start marking and an end marking on the rolling track and/or the braking track when the rolling element rolls on the rolling track. Then the braking distance of the associated elevator car can be determined from the distance between the start marking and the end marking.

Brake for elevator systems

A safety brake for an elevator includes a brake element or a brake wedge, a guide element, and a setting device. The brake element or the brake wedge is borne movably on the guide element. The safety brake has an activating element, which, upon activation of the safety brake, can be brought into mechanical engagement with the brake element or the brake wedge to act on a guiderail to stop an associated elevator car.

A speed limiter for an elevator installation includes a stand, a wheel rotatably mounted on the stand and a non-circularly extending guide surface rotatable with the wheel. A pendulum, which is pivotable relative to the stand, with a pendulum wheel bearing against the guide surface is provided. In addition, a restraining device is provided, which loads the pendulum wheel at least indirectly with a restraining force against the guide surface. A switching vane connected with the pendulum comes into engagement with a blocking dog, which dog is connected at least indirectly with the wheel, when the pendulum is pivoted out to a certain extent in which the pendulum wheel lifts off the guide surface. In addition, an actuating device that triggers the engagement between the switching vane and the blocking dog is provided.

Elevator installation with a speed limiter

A safety brake device at a load receiving component of an elevator installation includes brake equipment that co-operates with a guide rail of the load receiving component. The brake equipment includes a cam disc that is rotatable about a cam disc axis and for activation of the safety brake device is set into a rotation through an activation rotational angle by an activating mechanism, wherein as a consequence of such rotation the cam disc comes into contact with the guide rail, whereby the guide rail moving relative to the safety brake device when the load receiving component is travelling rotates the cam disc into a position in which the brake equipment and thus the safety brake device produce an intended braking action relative to the guide rail. The activating mechanism includes a pivotally mounted activating lever driven by an activating spring to rotate the cam disc.

Safety brake device for an elevator installation

In an elevator installation an elevator cage is movable along at least two guide rails and the elevator cage is equipped with a braking system. An elevator braking device includes a brake element, a force store, which is constructed to press the brake element against the brake surface, and an actuator, which can act on the brake element. A method of operating the braking device includes the actuator pressing, in a first operational setting, the brake element against the force of the force store away from the brake surface or to hold it at a spacing therefrom, and the actuator freeing, in a second operational setting, the brake element and allowing the force store to press the brake element against the brake surface.

Elevator braking method

A safety brake for an elevator system having at least one traveling body movable in an elevator shaft along a guide rail and/or a brake rail. The safety brake is suitable for braking and retaining the traveling body on the guide and/or brake rail as required. The safety brake includes a control plate for receiving a brake body and for positioning the brake body relative to the guide and/or brake rail. The brake body is designed in at least two pieces and includes a first brake element and a second brake element. The first brake element is solely for braking and retaining purposes when the traveling body is moving along the guide and/or brake rail in an upward direction, and the second brake element is solely for braking and retaining purposes when the traveling body is moving along the guide and/or the brake rail in a downward direction.

Safety brake for a travel body of an elevator system

A brake device for an elevator system with a travel body movable in an elevator shaft along a guide and/or brake rail brakes and retains the travel body on the rail as required. The brake device includes a control plate receiving a brake body and for positioning the brake body relative to the rail. The brake body has first and second brake elements pivoted about a common axis. The first brake element is for braking and retaining purposes when the travel body is moving along the rail in an upward direction, and the second brake element is for braking and retaining purposes when the travel body is moving along the rail in a downward direction.

Brake device for a travel body of an elevator system

An elevator cage is movable along at least two guide rails and the elevator cage is equipped with a braking system. The elevator braking device has a brake housing and a force store. The brake housing is mounted to be displaceable between a first position and a second position. The force store acts on the brake housing and pushes the brake housing in the direction of a second position. In addition, the elevator braking device includes an actuator which can act on the brake housing and keep the brake housing in a first position. The actuator in its first setting can hold the brake housing in the first position against the force of the force store. In a second setting the actuator enables pushing of the brake housing into the second position. A brake element is thereby brought into contact with the brake rail.

Braking device with actuating device

A safety brake device at a load receiving means of an elevator installation comprises brake equipment which co-operates with a guide rail of the load receiving means. The brake equipment includes a cam disc, which is rotatable about a cam disc axis and which for activation of the safety brake device is set into a rotation through an activation rotational angle, wherein the cam disc is so designed that the cam disc as a consequence of rotation through the activation rotational angle comes into contact with the guide rail, whereby the guide rail moving relative to the safety brake device when the load receiving means is travelling rotates the cam disc into a position in which the brake equipment and thus the safety brake device produce an intended braking action relative to the guide rail.

A brake system of an elevator, an escalator or a moving walkway includes a brake device with at least one brake shoe. The brake shoe has an effective surface which during brake use is pressed against a friction surface, which is moving or movable relative to the effective surface, of a counter-member. The brake system also includes a feed device which is supplied by a fluid source. A fluid can be fed between the effective surface of the brake shoe and the friction surface, which faces it, by means of the feed device. The friction between the effective surface and the friction surface can be influenced by the feed of the fluid.
