In various exemplary embodiments, a system and associated method to perform an adaptive risk-based assessment of a user is disclosed. A method includes receiving a request from a user to perform an action at an electronic marketplace, retrieving a plurality of risk assessment factors associated with the action and the user, performing a risk assessment process on the risk assessment factors to identify a risk mitigation process, requesting that the user perform the identified risk mitigation process, and allowing the user to perform the action in response to the user completing the risk mitigation.

Adaptive risk-based verification and authentication platform

A computed-implemented method and system for recommending business applications on a network-based marketplace are described. A user's listings, representing items for sale on the marketplace, are harvested to calculate segmentation data and metrics that form a user profile. The user profile is compared with other similar users who have subscribed to various applications, and the impact those applications have had on the metrics of the similar users is calculated in order to determine what impact the applications will have on the user in question. The impact, combined with user preferences, is used to suggest appropriate applications, which are displayed to the user within the marketplace. If the user selects one of the applications, the application is added to the user's profile and relevant listings are updated with the new application.

Application recommendation engine

A system and method optimize delivery of a good from a seller to a buyer through a drop-off location. The system illustratively includes at least one processor, configured to identify at least one attribute of the good from a plurality of such attributes; identify at least one attribute of the drop-off location from a plurality of such attributes; compile a match between the identified at least one attribute of the good and the identified at least one attribute of the drop-off location; identify at least one attribute of the seller from a plurality of such attributes; identify at least one attribute of the buyer from a plurality of such attributes; compile a match between the identified at least one attribute of the seller and the identified at least one attribute of the buyer; and select the drop-off location as a delivery destination of the good based on the two matches.

Scheduling and operations optimization

In various exemplary embodiments, a system and associated method to perform an adaptive risk-based assessment of a user is disclosed. The method includes assigning a risk assessment process to the user and providing a plurality of assessment factors to the risk assessment process. The plurality of assessment factors are based on both the user (e.g., previously assessed factors, residence, phone number, address, etc.) and one or more actions the user may perform (e.g., selling an item in an electronic marketplace and the value of the item). A post-action analysis of the risk assessment process is performed. The risk assessment process can be modified based on a determination of the post-action analysis.

Systems and methods for implementing an identity assertion framework to authenticate a user in a federation of security domains are provided. A first security token service associated with a first security domain is configured to receive a request for a first token from a device and issue the first token based on a first issuing policy of the first security domain. A token authenticator associated with a second security domain is configured to determine that the first token is not issued in the second security domain. A hardware-processor-implemented second security token service is configured to receive the first token from the token authenticator, determine that the first token was issued by the first security token service, and validate the first token based on a local federation policy that defines a federation agreement between the first security domain and the second security domain.

Identity assertion framework

Methods and systems to automatically respond to make a Super Identity by linking two identities and methods and systems to use the identities include a transaction authorization module that receives a request associated with a first identity record associated with a user, the request being for information associated with a second identity record. An identity linking module identifies that the second identity record is linked to the first identity record and retrieves the information associated with the second identity record. The transaction authorization module also generates a response including the information associated with the second identity, and transmits the response.

Linked identities

Systems and methods for implementing an identity assertion framework to authenticate a user in a federation of security domains are provided. A first security token service (STS) is configured to receive a request for a first token from a consumer and to issue the first token to the consumer. The first STS is associated with a first security domain, and the first token is issued according to a first issuing policy of the first security domain. A service provider within a second security domain receives the first token and makes a determination whether the first token is invalid in the second security domain. A second STS receives the first token from the service provider, determines that the first token was issued by the first STS, and validates the first token according to a federation policy between the first security domain and the second security domain.

Systems and methods for transformation of submitted listings are described. An example system comprises a policy module to receive a listing describing an item for sale and to determine that the listing does not comply with one or more marketplace policies of a marketplace. The marketplace publishes listings describing items for sale, and the one or more marketplace policies are based on item characteristics or listing characteristics. A presentation module, responsive to the determination that the listing does not comply with the one or more marketplace policies, transforms the listing according to the one or more marketplace policies and publishes the transformed listing in the marketplace.

Systems and methods for transformation of submitted listings

A method and a system to manage recommendations in an online marketplace are presented. A social shopping interface is provided at a publisher site accessed by a first user identified by a first user identifier. A recommendation of a listing describing an item for sale and including a second user identifier corresponding to a second user is accessed from a recommendation database. The recommendation, including at least a portion of the listing and the second user identifier are displayed to the first user at the publisher site via the social shopping interface.
