A cylinder liner in a power assembly for an engine includes an elongate liner body including a water jacket surface and a plurality of combustion air ports extending from an outer liner surface to an inner liner surface. A coolant supply passage extends from a coolant inlet formed in an outer liner surface, to a water jacket feed outlet spaced axially from the plurality of combustion air ports. A flow balancer for coolant is positioned in a coolant flow path extending in an axial direction along the water jacket surface from the water jacket feed outlet. The cylinder liner may form, in service in an engine, an upper water jacket, and a lower air annulus. The flow balancer assists in normalizing a flow and pressure of coolant through the water jacket.

A piston ring set for internal combustion (IC) engine is provided. The IC engine includes a cylinder having a liner and a finish on the liner. A piston having a crown and a set of grooves is disposed in the cylinder. A set of piston rings is disposed in the set of grooves. The piston rings are disposed in order from closest to the crown and include at least a first compression ring having free ends defining a first end gap, a second compression ring having free ends defining a second end gap. A nominal value of the first end gap of the first compression ring is greater than a nominal value of the second end gap of the second compression ring.

A fuel system for an engine has a cylinder with an inlet air port, an air box surrounding the inlet air port, and a gaseous fuel injector positioned in the air box and having a nozzle located at the inlet air port. The fuel system also has a gaseous fuel control valve, a fuel supply line fluidly extending from the gaseous fuel control valve to the gaseous fuel injector, a purge valve, and a purge fluid supply line fluidly extending from the purge valve to at least one of the fuel supply line and the gaseous fuel injector. The fuel system also has a return valve and a return line fluidly extending from at least one of the fuel supply line and the gaseous fuel injector.

A manifold for a dual-walled pipe includes a body, a primary conduit extending through the body and fluidly communicating with a primary passage of the dual-walled pipe, and a first socket having an outboard aperture and an inboard aperture fluidly communicating with the primary conduit. An intermediate chamber is disposed between the outboard aperture and the inboard aperture, and a first leakage conduit is formed in the body with a first end fluidly communicating with the intermediate chamber of the first socket and a second end adapted to fluidly communicate with a secondary passage of the pipe.

A nozzle assembly for a gaseous fuel injector of an engine is disclosed. The nozzle assembly may include a gaseous fuel injector having a nozzle with a tip end. The nozzle assembly may also include a blocking member having an inner contact surface configured to receive a periphery of the nozzle at the tip end, and an outer contact surface configured to engage an air intake port of a cylinder and create a hermetic seal between the gaseous fuel injector and the air intake port.

A control system for an engine including a fuel delivery system and an ignition source is provided. The control system includes a detector, a processor, and at least one actuator. The detector is configured to sense a signal to change from a compression ignited fuel to a spark ignited fuel. The processor is configured to receive the signal from the detector and generate an actuation signal. The actuator is configured to receive the actuation signal, vary an operating speed of the engine, and selectively control at least one of the fuel delivery system and the ignition source.

A cylinder assembly for use in an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The cylinder assembly may include a cylinder, a piston disposed within the cylinder, a plurality of piston rings encircling the piston, and a cylinder liner fitted around the piston in a cylindrical space in which the piston reciprocates. The piston may reciprocate within the cylinder along a longitudinal direction of the cylinder. The cylinder liner may include an upper section, a middle section, and a lower section. The upper section may be composed of a first texture; the middle section may be composed of a second texture that is rougher than the first texture; and the lower section may be composed of a third texture that is smoother than the first texture and the second texture.

A fuel system for an engine is disclosed. The fuel system may have a gaseous fuel injector configured to inject gaseous fuel radially into a cylinder of the engine. The fuel system may also have a primary cooling line configured to circulate coolant through the engine. The fuel system may also have an auxiliary cooling line fluidly connecting the primary cooling line with the gaseous fuel injector.

An engine is disclosed. The engine may have an air box. The engine may further have an opening into the air box. The engine may additionally have a baffle positioned adjacent the opening. The engine may also have a cylinder defining an intake port, with the intake port positioned in the air box. The baffle may be configured to deflect air that passes through the opening to direct the air away from the intake port of the cylinder.
