Techniques for improving profile switching and/or account switching using resource grouped architecture. For example, a system may group multiple applications and/or features together and associate them with a container that includes a set of resources shared between the features. Thus, all of the applications/features in a container may use the same set of resources, which enables the system to update the resources for multiple features at a time. In addition, the system may maintain multiple containers simultaneously, enabling the system to perform profile/account switching by moving an individual application/feature from a first container to a second container. Thus, this resource grouped architecture simplifies profile/account switching and enables additional functionality for care givers. For example, the system may associate some applications/features with a care giver profile/account and other applications/features with a care recipient profile/account, enabling the care giver to control both accounts without signing out.

A sensory-and-logic system includes a ring-shaped, electrically-conductive skin sensor sized and shaped to form an electrical connection with human skin, and an electrical component surrounded by the ring-shaped, electrically-conductive skin sensor.

A wearable electronic device includes a composite band, a touch-sensor display, a skin sensor, and a course of electrical conductors. The composite band forms a loop having two or more rigid segments and a flexible segment coupled between the rigid segments. The touch-sensor display is arranged in a first of the rigid segments, and a skin sensor is arranged in a second of the rigid segments. The course of electrical conductors runs between the first and second rigid segments, inside the flexible segment.

Computing devices and methods for controlling light output of a display are disclosed. In one example, a default brightness setting is set to an indoor light output level. A UV light sensor is activated to detect UV radiation levels. Based on determining that one or more of the UV radiation levels exceed a UV threshold, the default brightness setting is updated to correspond to an outdoor light output level that is greater than the indoor light output level. Without using information from an ambient light sensor, the display is activated from a deactivated state to illuminate at the updated default brightness setting corresponding to the outdoor light output level.

Determining time spent outdoors. A method includes, at a first time, using one or more primary criteria including one or more criteria related to information provided by a first hardware input sensor on a device, to determine that the device is outdoors. The method further includes at one or more other times, using one or more secondary criteria, different than the primary criteria, the secondary criteria related to information provided by one or more second hardware input sensors, to determine continuity of the device being outdoors from the first time to the one or more other times. The method further includes based on determining that the device is outdoors and determining continuity of the device being outdoors from the first time to the one or more other times, identifying a total amount of time that the device has been outdoors.

An electronic device includes an electronic component configured to receive electric current and a plated contact electrically coupled to the electronic component and configured to carry the electric current to the electronic component from a system external to the device. A physical activity monitoring device includes a sensor array with one or more sensors configured to measure physical activity attributes of a user. A controller automatically determines time intervals where the user is actively engaged in a physical activity based on the physical activity attributes. The controller also automatically determines a type of physical activity the user in actively engaged in during the determined time intervals based on the physical activity attributes. A reporter outputs information regarding the type of physical activity to the user.

A physical activity monitoring device receives an indication of one or more physical activities to be performed as an extension of a game being played on a game system and measures physical activity attributes of a user wearing the physical activity monitoring device. The physical activity monitoring device determines the user's progress towards completion of the one or more physical activities based on the physical activity attributes and outputs to the game device an indication of the user's progress towards completion of the one or more physical activities.

A physical activity monitoring device receives a workout regimen including a plurality of exercises. For each of the plurality of exercises, the physical activity monitoring device indicates that exercise to a user and measures physical activity attributes of the user.
