Various systems are provided for non-uniform thickness and/or sampling of slabs of the breast to present DBT acquisitions. A method for generating a patient image as a set of slabs representing an imaged object, the method comprising acquiring a tomosynthesis projection, reconstructing a series of slab images, each slab representing a portion of a breast, and a plurality of slabs of non-uniform thickness and/or non-uniform sampling in a 3D reconstructed domain defined by x-, y-, and z-axes.

Methods and systems for breast tomosynthesis

Methods and systems are provided for dynamic collimation adjustment during various x-ray imaging and image-guided procedures. In one example, collimation for an x-ray mammography system is adjusted based on a volume of interest, and further based on a workflow step of an imaging procedure. As an example, prior to a target selection, collimation may be adjusted to irradiate a larger volume of interest and x-ray system acquisition parameters, and hence, a greater area of a detector is irradiated; and after target coordinates are selected (e.g., for an interventional procedure), collimation may be adjusted to irradiate a reduced volume of interest based on the selected target and x-ray system acquisition parameters, and hence, a smaller area of detector is irradiated.

Methods and systems for dynamic collimation

Various methods and systems are provided for x-ray imaging. In one embodiment, a method includes acquiring, with an x-ray detector, an x-ray image of a subject, determining a transformation that minimizes anti-scatter grid artifacts in the x-ray image, correcting the x-ray image according to the transformation to generate a corrected image, and outputting the corrected image. In this way, artifacts arising from a misalignment of an anti-scatter grid between the calibration and the acquisition may be reduced.

Various methods and systems are provided for mammogram imaging. In one example, a method for an x-ray mammography system includes determining, based on a pre-exposure image of a subject acquired with the x-ray mammography system before acquisition of one or more main images, that the subject has an implant; automatically adjusting one or more imaging parameters in response to determining that the subject has the implant; and acquiring the one or more main images with the adjusted one or more imaging parameters.

Methods and systems for automatic implant detection in mammography

An X-ray source transmits X-rays through a subject and a detector receives the X-ray energy after having passed through the subject. A processing system generates a pre-shot image of the subject using low energy X-ray intensity from the X-ray source and determines a plurality of acquisition parameters for a main scan of the subject based on the pre-shot image. A saturation time of the detector for the corresponding acquisition parameters is determined based on detector calibration data and to determine a number of time frames required to reach the targeted dose based on the saturation time. An X-ray dosage level of the subject is then applied using the X-ray source based on the number of time frames and to generate the image of the subject based on the detected X-ray energy at the X-ray detector for the applied X-ray dosage level.

System and method for imaging a subject

A system for imaging is provided. The system includes an x-ray source, a detector, and a controller. The x-ray source is operative to transmit x-rays through a subject while the x-ray source continuously travels along a path defined by a sweep angle. The detector is operative to receive the x-rays after having passed through the subject. The controller is operative to: acquire preliminary data regarding the subject via the x-ray source and the detector; determine at least one acquisition parameter from the preliminary data; and acquire one or more projections of the subject via the x-ray source and the x-ray detector based at least in part on the acquisition parameter.

Compression pad for a mammography apparatus comprising a compression plate made of a material transparent to X-rays, and a support by which said pad is configured to be mounted onto a mammography apparatus. The support has an arch shape configured to go over the edge of a compression plate, and said compression plate and said support comprise complementary mechanical means capable of enabling manual locking/unlocking of the support on said plate, in particular for cleaning said plate and said support.
