A battery management apparatus for managing a chargeable-dischargeable battery includes: a battery status calculation unit that calculates a degradation degree of the battery; a degradation speed calculation unit that calculates a degradation speed of the battery on the basis of the degradation degree; and an upper limit temperature setting unit that sets an upper limit temperature of the battery on the basis of the degradation speed, wherein the upper limit temperature setting unit raises the upper limit temperature in association with a decrease of the degradation speed.

A battery management apparatusis an apparatus which manages a chargeable and dischargeable battery, and includes: a battery state calculation unitwhich calculates a state of charge SOC representing the state of charge of the battery, and a charge capacity fade SOHQ representing a deterioration degree; a mid voltage calculation unitwhich calculates a mid voltage that is present between the discharge voltage in a current state of charge of the battery, and a voltage value representing the discharge voltage in a minimum state of charge of the battery; a remaining capacity calculation unitwhich calculates a remaining capacity of the battery, based on the state of charge SOC and the charge capacity fade SOHQ; and an available energy calculation unitwhich calculates available energy of the battery, based on the mid voltage and the remaining capacity.

An upper limit current calculatorincludes: a concentration gradient estimatorthat estimates a lithium ion concentration gradient in a diffusion layer formed around an interface between an electrode and an electrolyte of a battery, based on a current flowing in the battery, or on the current and a temperature; and an upper limit current determinerthat determines an upper limit current value of the battery, based on the lithium ion concentration gradient. The upper limit current determinerdetermines the upper limit current value such that an overvoltage of the battery according to the lithium ion concentration gradient falls within a predetermined range.

Battery control device

Provided is a battery system in which a battery cell does not exceed a use limit temperature, and a time taken for returning to the charging/discharging process is shortened even if a frequency for the battery system to stop a charging/discharging process is reduced and the charging/discharging process is stopped. The battery system disclosed in the invention includes a plurality of battery cells and a control circuit which controls a charging/discharging current of the battery cell. The control circuit performs a plurality of temperature rising estimations on the basis of a battery temperature, a charging/discharging current, and a time width of a time window. The control circuit selects the charging/discharging current corresponding to a temperature rising estimation in which the temperature of the battery cell does not exceed a use limit temperature among the temperature rising estimations.

The evaluation device includes an information acquisition unit that acquires input information including at least specification information relating to specifications of the BESS, an estimation unit that estimates a life of the battery and a pecuniary profit in compensation for the service on the basis of the input information that is acquired by the information acquisition unit, and an optimization unit that determines a value of a control parameter, which is optimal for control of an operation of the BESS, on the basis of the life of the battery and the pecuniary profit which are estimated by the estimation unit.
