Embodiments described herein include methods, systems, and apparatuses for allowing a user equipment (UE) that supports dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) with uplink (UL)-shift to access a cell and barring UEs that do not support DSS with UL-shift. Embodiments may use a cell barring field in a master information block and additional filters to indicate a barring state for a network node.

Methods, systems, and apparatuses for handling dynamic spectrum sharing with uplink subcarrier shift

A wireless user equipment (UE) device may transmit a random access preamble to a base station, using a physical resource on an uplink signal. After failing to receive an initial transmission of a response message from the base station (BS), the UE device may monitor for one or more retransmissions of the response message. Each of the retransmission may include a corresponding transmission number. As an alternative, each of the retransmissions may be at least partially scrambled using a corresponding Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI). As another alternative, a window for monitoring and RNTI calculation may be extended to include the one or more retransmissions. The successive retransmissions may include the same set of UE-specific payloads, or, a decreasing set of payloads over time as UE devices acknowledge successful receipt of their respective payloads.

Retransmission of MsgB in two-step random access procedure

Techniques discussed herein can facilitate transmission and reference signals (RS) associated with layer-1 (L1) operations outside of a configured carrier bandwidth (CBW) of a user equipment (UE). One example aspect is a UE with one or more processors configured to transmit UE capability information. The UE capability information includes a frequency separation threshold, where the frequency separation threshold represents a frequency separation from a CBW of the UE. The one or more processors are further configured to receive a RS within the frequency separation threshold and outside of the CBW, and subsequently perform a L1 operation based on the RS.

Layer-1 reference signaling outside of carrier bandwidths

Performing a UE-triggered lower layer-based handover may include performing measurements of source gNB CSI-RS samples associated with a source gNB. Measurements of target gNB CSI-RS samples associated with a target gNB may be performed, wherein the CSI-RS samples associated with the source gNB and the CSI-RS samples associated with the target gNB are transmitted in a burst structure. A subset of the source gNB CSI-RS samples and the target gNB CSI-RS samples may be filtered using a layer 1 or a layer 2 filter. A filtered result for each of the subset of source gNB CSI-RS samples and the subset of target gNB CSI-RS samples may be generated. Based on the generated filtered result for each of the subset of source gNB CSI-RS samples and the subset of target gNB CSI-RS samples, determining whether a handover from the source gNB to the target gNB is to occur.

A multi-universal subscriber identity module (MUSIM) user equipment (UE) is configured to stay synchronized with a network. The UE registers to a first network for the first SIM, registering to a second network for the second SIM, prior to the UE conducting a high priority activity related to the second SIM, sends, to the first network via a connection associated with the first SIM, a first message comprising an estimated time duration during which the UE conducts the high priority activity related to the second SIM, receives, from the first network, a second message indicating a time period during which the first network will retain a connection context for the connection associated with the first SIM in an RRC Inactive state and when the UE completes the high priority activity, determines the connection context of the first network for the connection associated with the first SIM.

Synchronization of RRC status of a multi-SIM user equipment with a base station

A user equipment (UE) is connected to a wireless network and operates in a carrier aggregation (CA) state that includes a first connection to a primary cell and a second connection to a secondary cell. The UE determines a beam failure has occurred for one of the first connection or the second connection and initiates a beam failure recovery (BFR) operation. The BFR operation includes transmitting, to the primary cell, a BFR Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE).

An indication that a wireless device supports multiple discontinuous reception configurations for carrier aggregation operation may be provided by the wireless device to a cellular base station. Configuration information for carrier aggregation operation may be received by the wireless device from the cellular base station. The configuration information may include separate discontinuous reception configurations for each of multiple cell groups.

A user equipment (UE) enters into a first state including one of a non-dormant state or a dormant state with a secondary serving cell (SCell) of a network, the SCell being configured to provide either one of a non-dormant bandwidth part (BWP) as a secondary component carrier (SCC) in the non-dormant state or a dormant BWP as an SCC in the dormant state. The UE switches from the first state to a second state including the other one of the non-dormant state or the dormant state, the switch being based on network configuration, a dormancy timer, or a radio condition.

This disclosure relates to techniques for determining a quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals for multi-transmission-reception-point operation in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may establish wireless links with multiple transmission-reception-points of a cellular network. The wireless device may receive downlink control information. The wireless device may determine a quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals for the downlink control information. Signals received according to the quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals may be buffered by the wireless device if a scheduling offset for the downlink control information is below a scheduling offset threshold.

Quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic CSI-RS for multi-TRP operation

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to discontinuous reception (DRX) transmission. Embodiments of the present disclosure propose a solution for DRX configurations for point-to-point (PTP) and/or point-to-multipoint (PTM) transmissions. In this solution, a user equipment (UE) maintains separate DRX configurations for PTP transmissions and PTM transmissions. During active time for the PTP transmissions, the UE monitors physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with a UE specific identifier. The UE monitors PDCCH with a PTM transmission specific identifier during active time for the PTM transmissions. In this way, it can match the MBS service quality mechanism. Moreover, it also saves power at the UE.

Discontinuous reception transmission

To accommodate a mix of high frequency carriers and lower frequency carriers, a protocol stack may include a radio link control (RLC) entity that allows configuration of status reporting control parameters on per carrier, or per subcarrier spacing. Alternatively, a protocol stack may include two RLC entities, one for handling high frequency carriers, and another for handling lower frequency carriers. (High frequency carriers and lower frequency carriers may be distinguished based on a frequency threshold.) Furthermore, a user equipment may transmit (to the network) an indication of its L2 buffer size. The network may configure the UE and/or control scheduling, to ensure the UE's L2 buffer does not overrun. Alternatively, the UE may indicate that it can support a percentage of a maximum buffer size. The network may configure the UE and/or control scheduling so that the UE's buffer occupancy does not exceed the percentage.

Handling high data rates in protocol stack when using high frequency spectrum

Aspects are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for secondary cell group (SCG) addition. A wireless device may establish communication with a first base station that is comprised in a master cell group (MCG) and a second base station that is comprised in the SCG. The wireless device may maintain timing advance (TA) parameters for performing uplink communication with the second base station. The wireless device may perform a plurality of signal quality measurements after receiving an indication to deactivate the SCG. The wireless device may determine whether to reuse the TA parameters for communicating with the second base station after receiving an indication. The determination may be based on comparing one or more signal quality measurements of the second base station to one or more signal quality thresholds.

Uplink timing synchronization maintenance in secondary cell group

A user equipment (UE) associated with a wireless communication system is disclosed. The UE comprises one or more processors configured to process a service configuration signal received from a base station associated therewith. In some aspects, the service configuration signal comprises an indication of one or more service configurations associated with a data transmission that are allowed to be transmitted by the UE during an INACTIVE state of the UE. The one or more processors is further configured to determine the one or more service configurations associated with the data transmission that are allowed to be transmitted by the UE during the INACTIVE state of the UE, based on processing the service configuration signal.

To extend a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) in wireless communications, an extended physical broadcast channel (EPBCH) transmission is generated with one or more legacy PBCH blocks and one or more EPBCH blocks within an extension window. A size of the extension window is determined based at least in part on a PBCH repetition number and a number of the legacy PBCH blocks relative to a number of the EPBCH blocks. The EPBCH transmission is transmitted by a base station (BS) to one or more user equipment (UE).
