A surveillance method using multi-dimensional sensor data for use in a surveillance system is provided. The surveillance system includes a plurality of sensors installed within a scene, and the plurality of sensor are classified into a plurality of types. The surveillance method includes the steps of: obtaining each type of sensor data from the scene using the sensors; performing a local-object process on each type of sensor data to generate local-object-feature information for each type; performing a global-object process according to the local-object-feature information of each type to generate global-object-feature information; and performing a global-object recognition process on the global-object-feature information to generate a global-recognition result.

Surveillance system and surveillance method using multi-dimensional sensor data

A method for presenting application list is disclosed, which is applied to an electronic device. The method includes activating a list arrangement program which reads several applications and generates categorized application list accordingly. Each application is associated with one of the categories, and includes objects representing the application. The categorized application list includes several groups, each of them includes a category name of one category and the objects associating with one or more applications under the category. The method further includes receiving the control command for displaying one of the groups at the index region of the user interface of the electronic device. The index region is arranged at the side of the user interface. Thus, an application list which is categorized may be provided for improving the convenience of accessing applications.

Method, electronic device, and computer-readable recording medium for presenting application lists

A preview and playback method of video streams is provided for a video playback device having network function. The method includes defining a virtual channel and a preview channel corresponding to the virtual channel. A video stream list of the virtual channel is established for linking a plurality of video streams. A preview list is established and description information of each of the preview data corresponding to the video streams is recorded in the preview list. When the video playback device receives a preview channel selection instruction, the preview data is obtained automatically and played continuously. When the video playback device receives a preview data selection instruction, the video stream corresponding to the preview data being selected is recognized as a selected video stream. The preview channel is switched to the virtual channel, and the selected video stream is obtained from a video stream service and played automatically.

Preview and playback method of video streams and system thereof

A method for virtual channel management is provided. The method includes the following steps. In response to a command, a control unit of a network-based multimedia reproduction system determines whether the command is associated with virtual channel switching. When the command is associated with virtual channel switching, the control unit checks whether a channel value corresponding to the command exists in an application virtual channel table. When the channel value exists in the application virtual channel table, the control unit determines an application corresponding to the channel number from the application virtual channel table, and executes the application. According to a first operation parameter set corresponding to the application, the control unit sets the executed application to retrieve digital contents through a network unit of the network-based multimedia reproduction system.

A method for personalized virtual channel management includes: determining whether a received command is associated with virtual channel switching, wherein a network-based multimedia reproduction system is in mode of a first channel zone of a personalized channel zone; if yes, checking whether a channel value corresponding to the command exists in the first channel zone; if yes, executing an application corresponding to the channel value in the first channel zone to retrieve digital contents and display the digital contents on a screen of the network-based multimedia reproduction system; determining a desired channel zone if the command is associated with switching of the personalized channel zone; checking whether at least one log-in command matches log-in information of the desired channel zone; if yes, switching the network-based multimedia reproduction system to a mode of the desired channel zone in the personalized channel zone.
