A digital reading device with cosmetic function includes a base plate, a lighting panel, a driving unit and a transparent touch panel. The base plate includes a plurality of black units. The lighting panel is disposed on the base plate and includes as plurality of lighting units for emitting a green light. The driving unit is electrically connected to the lighting panel and the base plate, wherein the driving unit is for turning on or turning off each of the lighting units respectively. The transparent touch panel is disposed on the lighting panel for displaying a message composed of the black units. The message may also be white-colored on a green background color with various saturation levels whenever the lighting panel includes a plurality of displaying units, and each of the displaying units consists of two lighting units with complimentary colors.

Digital reading device with cosmetic function

A light emitting diode-based skin cosmetic device includes a first light emitting panel, a second light emitting panel, a first narrow band filter, a second narrow band filter and an optical window. The first light emitting panel is connected with the second light emitting panel at one side and an angle is formed between the first light emitting panel and the second light emitting panel. Two sides of the optical windows are connected with the first light emitting panel and the second light emitting panel together to form a triangle structure and the angle is faced toward the optical windows. The first and second narrow band filter is disposed on one surface of the first light to emitting panel and one surface of the second light emitting panel respectively.

Light emitting diode-based skin cosmetic device

A day/night switchable light adjusting device and light adjusting method thereof are provided. The day/night switchable light adjusting device is composed of a plurality of panels; each panel includes a reflecting surface and at least one lighting unit. Each lighting unit can emit various wavelength region lights, and the various wavelength lights are mixed on a light collecting component. A control unit is provided for adjusting the various wavelength region lights corresponding to day/night variation. A light intensity of a cyan region light or a blue region light is reduced for preventing an over-inhibition on a quantity of Melatonin.

Day/night switchable light adjusting device and light adjusting method thereof

An organic light emitting device includes, a first organic light emitting diode unit, a second light emitting diode unit, and an optical component. The first organic light emitting diode unit is connected with the second organic light emitting diode unit, and an internal angle is formed between the two organic light emitting diode units. The first organic light emitting diode unit, the second organic light emitting diode unit, and the optical component are connected together to form a triangle structure. A first light emitting region of the first organic light emitting diode unit and a second light emitting region of the second organic light emitting diode unit are overlapped on the optical component and forming a third light emitting region. A uniform light can be obtained by adjusting the first organic light emitting diode unit and the second organic light emitting diode unit respectively.

Organic light emitting device and light adjusting method thereof

This invention discloses a projection screen including a diffusion layer, a cap layer, an interference layer and an absorption layer. The projection screen of this invention is based on the concept of inverse reflection. The interference filter includes a plurality of high and low refractive index layers, both of which alternately stacked. The projection screen conveys a small spectral shift and a narrow bandwidth at different incident angles so that the better contract ratio of the image signal can be displayed.

Reflective screens

A color separation prism assembly. The color separation prism assembly includes a polarizing beam splitter and a plurality of prism blocks. The polarizing beam splitter is coated with a polarizing beam splitter coating on a diagonal plane thereof. A first filter and a second filter, each corresponding to a specific color band, are respectively formed on two adjacent bounding surfaces of the polarizing beam splitter. A first prism block and a second prism block are connected to the polarizing beam splitter through the first filter and the second filter, respectively. The second prism block is a rectangular prism with a third filter formed on a base surface thereof. A third prism block is connected to the rectangular prism through the third filter. An angle formed by an inclined side of the rectangular prism and the base surface of the third filter is no more than 30&#xb0;.

Color separation prism assembly

An optical prism assembly. The optical prism assembly includes an isosceles triangular prism and a plurality of prism blocks. The isosceles triangular prism comprises a base angle, between 30&#xb0; and 45&#xb0;. A first prism block and a second prism block are connected to two bounding surfaces of the isosceles triangular prism having equal lengths. A third prism block is connected between the first prism block and the second prism block. A first dichroic filter and a second dichroic filter are formed on the isosceles triangular prism and two adjacent bounding surfaces of each prism blocks, such that the isosceles triangular prism is combined with each prism block to form a first filter continuous plane and a second filter continuous plane.

Optical prism assembly

A fast time-sequential color separator that can fast-switch to output various wavelength ranges of lights having high color purity and a high contrast ratio, which includes: a prism module to separate an incident light into various wavelength ranges of light beams which are emitted from various prisms of the prism module; a plurality of ferroelectric liquid crystal panels, respectively placed on emerging surfaces of the various wavelength ranges of light beams, to reflect the various wavelength ranges of light beams to the prism module; and a power supply, respectively connected to the plurality of ferroelectric liquid crystal panels, to fast-switch the liquid crystal panels, respectively, to sequentially emit the various wavelength ranges of light beams from the prism module. Furthermore, a full color LCD projector can be constructed by the color separator, a transmissive or reflective fast response display element such as a liquid crystal light valve, and other elements such as micro-mirrors, etc.

Time-sequential color separator and liquid crystal projector using the same

A projection system used in a liquid crystal display (LCD) system is provided. The projection system has a light source, a polarization set which further includes a double dove prism, a vertical prism and a half-wave plate, a polarization beam splitter (PBS), a dichroic prism, and a projection lens. The light source emits a white light, which enters the polarization set and is split into a P-state polarized blue light and a mixed light. The mixed light includes an S-state polarized red light and an S-state polarized green light. The PBS allows the P-state polarized blue light to transmit and enter onto a blue light LCD panel, and deflects the mixed light by 90&deg;. The dichroic prism splits the S-state polarized red light and the S-state polarized green light of the mixed light, which respectively enter a red light LCD panel and a green light LCD panel. The projection lens collects light from the red, green, blue LCD panels and project the lights onto a screen.

Liquid crystal display system and light projection system

A thermal transfer color-variable ribbon is disclosed, the color appearance of which depends on the variation of viewing angle, which includes a substrate, a releasing agent formed on the substrate, a functional coating, which can be a multilayer thin-film stack of reflection mode or transmission mode, formed on the releasing agent, and an adhering layer formed on the functional coating. The functional coating is designed based on the general theory that describes the thin-film interference phenomena. The functional coating can be formed by alternately stacking dielectrics having high and low refractive indices or dielectric and metal layers. The construction parameters of the all-dielectric stack and the metal/dielectric stack can be chosen in similar way to how parameters are chosen when manufacturing selective band-pass filters, which are designed based on the thin-film interference theory. The color appearance of the printed document, either in reflection mode or in transmission mode, can be selected and optimized as for the filter design. The effect of varying incident angle on color appearance of the functional coating in either mode can also be optimized during the design. Furthermore, the functional coating can be a inhomogeneous thin-film. The refractive index of the inhomogeneous thin film is varied along the growth direction.

Thermal transfer color-variable ribbons for peripheral printers

A thin-film multilayer system for use in a head-up display is provided, which comprises: A substrate; a plurality of dielectric layers having a high refractive index sequentially formed on the substrate; and a plurality of dielectric layers having a low refractive index formed alternately with the plurality of dielectric layers having a high refractive index. The thickness and ingredient of each of the plurality of dielectric layers having a high refractive index and the plurality of dielectric layers having a low refractive index are determined according to interference theory for all-dielectric thin-film multilayers to make the thin-film multilayer system able to polarize light and to display images in true color. Further, the ingredients of the thin-film multilayer system are dielectric materials that can endure wear and tear, chemicals, and environmental injuries. The thin-film multilayer system can be directly formed on the windshield of a vehicle, otherwise it can be formed on a substrate made of glass or plastic, and then adhered to the windshield.

Thin-film multilayer systems for use in a head-up display

A composite optical film with a low refractive index mainly comprises calcium fluoride (CaF.sub.2), and silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2) mixed with a specific composition ratio. The composite optical film is formed on a quartz substrate. The composite film is formed by using a coater, which accommodates two individual e-gun sources inside a cylindrical chamber. Oxygen is bled into the chamber. A heating process and plasma formation are performed to assist the process of forming the composite film. Additionally, a laser reflection lenses comprises an optical film with high refractive index and an optical film with low refractive index, which are alternately laminated onto a quartz glass substrate. The optical film with low refractive index uses a composite optical film mainly comprising calcium fluoride (CaF.sub.2) and silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2) mixed with a fixed composition ratio.

Composite optical film

A method for fabricating a full-color organic electro-luminescent device starts with forming an indium tin oxide (ITO) layer on a glass substrate, and then forming a blue-light emitting layer on the ITO layer. By irradiating predetermined portions of the blue-light emitting layer with certain light sources, pixels that emit different light colors are formed on the irradiated portions of the blue-light emitting layer. An electrode layer is then formed on the corresponding pixels, wherein the electrode layer is further covered by a protection layer. During the operation of the full-color OEL device of the invention, a driving voltage is applied on the ITO layer, the anode, and the electrode layer, the cathode.

Method for fabricating an organic electro-luminescent device

A multilayer thin-film broad-band polarizing beam-splitter which can split an unpolarized beam into two orthogonal linearly polarized beams with high extinction ratios is provided. The fabrication method comprises: (1) selecting a right-angle prism, having an isosceles triangular cutoff plane; (2) depositing broad-band polarized multilayer thin-film on an internal slope of the right-angle prism; (3) cementing and UV-curing a coated right-angle prism with an uncoated right-angle prism to form a cube-shaped polarizing beam-splitter; (4) properly determining the orientation of the polarization plane of the cube-shaped polarizing beam-splitter; (5) identifying the multi-stage assembly designs that are responsible for beam being incident and emerging; (6) adding anti-reflecting coatings to the relevant faces of the cube-shaped polarizing beam-splitters; and (7) cementing and UV-curing these cube-shaped polarizing beam-splitters.

Multilayer thin-film broad-band polarizing beam-splitter

A polarization converter for unpolarized light. The polarization converter comprises a prism, a wedge, a set of lens arrays, a first reflecting plane, and a second reflecting plane. The wedge comprises a tilt plane. The tilt plane is coated with multi-layer polarization dichronic thin film. The set of lens arrays comprises a light distributor and a light integrator. The tilt plane of the wedge is glued on the first reflecting plane. A second reflecting plane is the unglued plane of the wedge. When a light beam is incident towards the incident plane, the first reflecting plane splits and polarizes the light beam into a first type polarized and a second type polarized lights. Through the multi-layer polarization dichronic thin film, about 99% of the first type polarized light is reflected, and about 99% of the second type polarized light is transmitted and incident on the second reflecting plane. By adjusting the critical angle between the second reflecting plane and the air, almost all the second type polarized light is reflected. The second type polarized light is then traveling through a half-wave plate and converted to a first type polarized light. A good uniformity and a high efficiency are obtained on the projection screen by the disposition of a light distributor lens array in front of the incident plane and a light integrator lens array on the emerging plane of the prism.
