A control mechanism for controlling a plurality of movable elements of a ventilation nozzle using only one drive. The control mechanism includes a base body, a control gate, and at least two driven elements. A sliding block element having two degrees of freedom with respect to the base body is guided by alternating movements in two opposite directions of the first degree of freedom by the control gate and, in the process, consecutively abuts the first and/or second driven elements. So as to design such a control mechanism as simply as possible, rotational movements are utilized, instead of translatory movements.

Two disks are consecutively disposed transversely to a flow direction in an air vent for a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, serving as air deflection elements that include mutually intersecting slots, through which a rod that is pivotably mounted in a ball and socket joint passes, so that the air deflection elements can be moved transversely in the air vent by way of the rod. By moving the air deflection elements, an air current through the air vent can be guided to the side, and thus air flowing out of the air vent can be guided obliquely to the side in any arbitrary direction.

A holder for holding, for example, a beverage can, in a tilt-proof manner, in a motor vehicle is designed with two rings that are disposed concentrically inside one another, serving as supports (), which can be consecutively raised and lowered by rotating a control sleeve comprising radial cams. By raising only the larger ring, the holder is suitable for a beverage can having a larger diameter, and by raising both rings, it is suitable for a beverage can having a smaller diameter.

An air vent for ventilating a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. The air vent includes an air channel, which is divided, by an air splitter, into two partial air channels, which can be steplessly partially or completely blocked for air passing through, by blocking elements, which are pivotably mounted at the air splitter. The blocking elements may be displaced by way of a ram, which can be moved in the air splitter transversely to the air channel. Either one or the other blocking element can be selectively displaced by way of the ram. The respective other blocking element, in an open position, then rests against the outside of the air splitter.

So as to guide an air current flowing out of an air vent for a motor vehicle, an air deflection element, which can be moved transversely in an air channel of the air vent, is disposed upstream of an air guide body in a flow direction, which includes air passages, for which the air deflection element includes congruent windows.

An air vent for ventilating a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle and in which an air quantity control element is provided in an air divider, which can be moved selectively into one of two air ducts, into which the air divider divides the air vent. A ratio of air quantities that flow through the two air ducts determines an outflow direction out of the air vent.

A holding device for a beverage container intended for installation in a holdable arm rest in a motor vehicle, has a carriage guidable as a drawer to be displaceable back and forth between a pushed-in position and a pulled-out position so that a beverage container can be inserted into the holding device when the carriage is in the pulled-out position, a guide for guiding the carriage during its displacement between the positions, a gravity locking device which locks the carriage in the pushed-in position when the carriage is not in an approximately horizontal position.

For space-saving housing of the holding device (), the invention proposes constructing the holding device () as a recess (), for example, in a dashboard () of a motor vehicle, and providing it with an ashtray () pivotable into and out of the recess ().
