A spring and damper system for a circuit board includes a spring arrangement having a plurality of compression springs. Each of the compression springs has a contact portion and two ends which are disposed away from their respective contact portion. Each of a plurality of dampers is disposed on a respective one of the ends of the compression springs and configured to contact a portion of the circuit board.

A clamp may be disposed on the cord and may be received in a cord hole that may be at least partially defined by a mounting boss. A seal assembly may be disposed in the cord hole between the clamp and a cap. The cap, seal assembly, and clamp may cooperate to secure the cord.

A system and method operable to facilitate thermal wall plug sensing and control may include an ability to control current drawn by a charging system or other load according to a temperature determined at an interface between the charging system and an energy source used to provided energy to the charging system. A temperature sensed with a temperature sensor included in a plug assembly or other housing or cord used to connect the charging system to the energy source may be used to implement the temperature regulated current control.

In at least one embodiment, a socket assembly that is positioned in a vehicle is provided. The socket assembly includes a socket plate and a socket body. The socket plate defines a first plurality of openings to enable a connection to a plurality of terminals. The socket body defines a recess therein and a second plurality of openings extend therethrough for receiving the plurality of terminals. The socket body includes at least one channel positioned on an outer periphery of the recess to receive the socket plate such that the socket plate is moveable across the recess and the first plurality of openings are capable of being aligned over the second plurality of openings. The socket body further includes at least one locking member protruding from the socket body to secure the socket plate to the socket body.

A vehicle occupant sensing system adapted for detecting a condition of a vehicle seat assembly that includes at least one emitter and at least one sensor disposed in spaced relationship to the emitter. The sensor is operable to detect relative distance to the emitter to thereby detect the condition of the vehicle seat assembly. The vehicle occupant sensing system also includes at least one sensor assembly with a base and an upper slide member slidingly supported for movement toward and away from the base. The upper slide member includes an exterior surface that is continuous to thereby block contaminants from entering the sensor assembly. Also, at least one of the emitter and the sensor is supported by the upper slide member. The vehicle occupant sensing system may be employed in a vehicle seat to detect a condition of the vehicle seat.

An electrical switch having a plurality of switch positions includes a plurality of first electrical contacts, and a second electrical contact configured to electrically connect at least two of the first contacts. A carrier member is configured to carry the second contact, and a knob is used to facilitate selection of the switch positions. The knob is configured to cooperate with the carrier member so that moving the knob from one switch position to another results in a related movement of the carrier member and the second contact. A first biasing member, which is electrically isolated from all of the electrical contacts, is configured to bias at least a portion of the second contact toward the first contacts to facilitate an electrical connection therebetween.

A vehicle occupant sensing system for detecting a condition of a vehicle seat assembly. The vehicle occupant sensing system includes a base, an upper slide member supported for movement toward and away from the base, and at least one guiding rib. The guiding rib extends from one of the upper slide member and the base toward the other of the upper slide member and the base so as to guide movement of the upper slide member toward and away from the base. The vehicle occupant sensing system may be employed in a vehicle seat assembly to detect a condition of the vehicle seat.

A vehicle occupant sensing system for detecting a condition of a vehicle seat assembly that includes at least one base and at least one upper slide member supported for movement toward and away from the base. The upper slide member is movable in response to the condition of the vehicle seat assembly. At least one of the base and the upper slide member includes at least one retention member that is adapted for retaining the biasing member. The vehicle occupant sensing system may be employed in a vehicle seat to detect a condition of the vehicle seat.

A vehicle occupant sensing system that includes at least one sensor and at least one sensor assembly. The sensor assembly has a base and an upper slide member supported for movement toward and away from the base wherein the sensor is operable to detect movement of the upper slide member toward and away from the base. The vehicle occupant sensing system also includes at least one contamination barrier member operatively attached to the upper slide member and at least partially shielding the sensor assembly to decrease contamination of the sensor assembly. The vehicle occupant sensing system may be employed in a vehicle seat to detect a condition of the vehicle seat.

A vehicle switching system includes a controller, a headlamp switch, and a series resistor arrangement. The controller has an input connected to a voltage divider. The switch has a contact movable between positions with each position being associated with a respective headlamp function. The switch is connected to the input of the controller. A top end of each resistor has a connection point associated with a respective switch position. A bottom end of the resistor at the bottom of the series is connected to an electrical ground. Upon the switch contact contacting a connection point a circuit including the resistors between the ground and the connection point is formed such that a signal having a voltage is input to the controller. The voltage of the signal is dependent upon the resistance of the resistors forming the circuit. The controller enables the headlamp function corresponding to the voltage of the signal.

Circuit architecture for vehicle headlamp switch

A push-pull rotary switch includes a board having two circuits on opposite sides. Conductors are respectively positioned above the circuits for contacting ground and contact pads of the circuits. A shaft extends through the conductors and the board and is rotatable and moveable between inward and outward positions. The conductors are connected to the shaft to rotate and move with the shaft. A first conductor contacts the ground pad and a contact pad of a first circuit when the shaft is in the inward position. A second conductor contacts the ground pad and a contact pad of a second circuit when the shaft is in the outward position. A first trace is connected to the first circuit ground pad and a second trace is connected to the second circuit ground pad. A contactor connects a ground trace to at least one of the first and second traces at all times.
