A centrifugal pump including an outer case; an inner case; a first unit and a second unit placed in fluid communication with each other, each unit including a plurality of impellers; the inner case includes two half-parts joined along a connection plane containing the axis of rotation; a connecting element is placed between the first unit and the second unit, the connecting element is engaged with a last impeller of the first unit and with a last impeller of the second unit.

A combined bearing for a turbomachine is disclosed. The combined bearing comprises in combination: a radial bearing member, a thrust bearing member and a bearing-fluid impeller of a bearing-fluid boosting pump in fluid communication with the thrust bearing member and the radial bearing member.

Combined bearing and turbomachine including said bearing

The turbomachine comprises a stationary casing with a rotating member configured to rotate about a rotation axis in the stationary casing. The turbomachine further includes a rotating balance drum, arranged for co-rotation with the rotating member. A stationary sleeve is arranged in a fixed relationship with the stationary casing and surrounds the balance drum. The stationary sleeve comprises a plurality of consecutively arranged sleeve sections. A fluid channel is defined by an outer surface of the balance drum and an inner surface of the stationary sleeve. Between at least one pair of sequentially arranged upstream sleeve section and downstream sleeve section an annular chamber is provided, fluidly coupled to the fluid channel. Shunt holes are arranged on the upstream sleeve section, each shunt hole having a shunt hole inlet on an inner surface of the upstream sleeve section, and a shunt hole outlet in the annular chamber.

Turbomachine with a balance drum and sleeve arrangement and method

A turbo machine comprising a barrel casing having a cylindrical internal surface defining an internal containment volume, a bundle having a cylindrical shape, adapted to be accommodated into the internal containment volume, a cylindrical cover connected to the bundle to close the internal containment volume and hold the bundle inside the barrel casing, a split shear ring adapted to fix the barrel casing with the cylindrical cover wherein the external cylindrical surface of the cylindrical cover and the cylindrical internal surface of the barrel casing are provided with a first circumferential groove and a second circumferential groove adapted to accommodate the shear ring and wherein the first grooves is adapted to completely accommodate the cross section of the split shear ring.

Barrel turbo-machine comprising retracting shear

An axially-split turbomachine comprising a casing comprised of a first casing portion and a second casing portion, forming a housing for a rotor arranged for rotation therein. The rotor comprises a shaft and at least one impeller mounted on the shaft. The casing comprises at least one shaft passageway through which the shaft extends from the interior of the casing towards the exterior of the casing. The sealing arrangement comprises a linear sealing member, extending between the first and the second casing portions. The sealing arrangement further comprises at least one sealing ring portion surrounding said at least one shaft passageway. The sealing ring portion and the linear sealing member form a continuous sealing body.

Sealing arrangement for axially split turbomachines

A back-to-back centrifugal pump comprising a pump inlet, a pump outlet, a pump shaft, a set of first stages, and a set of second stages in a back-to-back arrangement. Between the two sets of stages an intermediate crossover module is arranged. The first and second sets of stages comprise respective first outer diaphragms and second outer diaphragms. The outer diaphragms and the intermediate crossover module are stacked together and form a pump casing. The intermediate crossover module forms at least one axial transfer channel between the two sets of stages, and a fluid connection between the set of second stages and the pump outlet. The second diaphragms comprise each at least one peripherally arranged through aperture. The through apertures are aligned to form at least one passageway, which fluidly connects the axial transfer channel with a most upstream one of the impellers of the second set of stages.
