A hand-held suction pump for creating a vacuum in a container ( ) provided with a suction valve ( ), comprising an elongated outer casing in which an electric motor ( ) and a piston pump ( ) driven by the motor ( ) are accommodated, wherein the pump chamber ( ) of the piston pump is connected by an inlet valve and a suction duct ( ) to a hollow tip ( ) at the free end of the casing for direct coupling with the suction valve of the container, the pump chamber being further connected by an outlet valve to an exhaust duct ( ) having a duct opening on the outer surface of the wall of the outer casing for porting an exhaust flow to the exterior of the outer casing. In order to reduce noise caused by the exhaust flow, the duct opening of the exhaust duct ( ) is overlapped by a baffle ( ) which is separated by a gapped distance from the outer surface of the wall of the outer casing so as to deflect the exhaust flow exiting the duct opening by a substantial angle.

Hand-held suction pump

An industrial truck, in particular a counterbalanced front-forklift truck, is provided which can be operated both manually and automatically and has a fork to handle pallets and loads located thereon. The forklift truck is equipped for automatic operation with a control system which can be brought into active connection with the vehicle drive system, the vehicle steering system, the vehicle braking system or the movement control system for the fork. The truck further includes a system for the input and storage of possible travel routes and a transport task, a system for the autonomous determination of the position of the vehicle in the room, a system for the control of the movement of the vehicle as a function of its position in the room and of the predefined transport task, a system for detection of the presence, the position, and the orientation of a pallet, a system for the control of the movement of the fork and/or of the vehicle as a function of the position, the orientation of the pallet, and the transport task, and a system for the deceleration of the vehicle in the presence of obstacles.

Selectively operable industrial truck

A lift truck has a tractive-power electric motor, an electric motor which actuates a pump for the hydraulic circuits, and batteries which supply the electric motors. In order to obtain a long working life as well as reliability and a high performance, the tractive-power motor or both motors are asynchronous and there are provided devices for sensing the angular positions and angular velocities of the motors and an electronic control unit connected to the sensor devices for controlling the power supplies to the motors in dependence on required velocities for the motors and on the basis of data provided by the sensor devices.
