The present disclosure relates to a head-up display device comprising a pivoting and/or tilting combiner system, a projector system capable of generating information to be viewed, a mechanical actuation and drive system, a housing including a compartment and a fixed cover. The fixed cover includes a contact and sealing edge, and the device further includes a movable cover being mounted, preferably removable, on the support. The resultant device forms a contact seal preventing the passage of dust and other foreign elements between said contact and sealing edge and the movable cover.

Head-up display device

A system and method for canceling vibrations in a head-up display device displaying a projected image superimposed over a field of view of a driver of a vehicle includes a mounting plate fixed to the vehicle and supporting a combiner panel while allowing the combiner panel to be rotated about a rotation axis. An image source generates a signal corresponding to the projected image, which is then projected upon the combiner panel by a picture generating unit. A rotation sensor measures rotation of the combiner panel and causes a displacement compensation controller to shift the projected image to offset displacement caused by vibration which would otherwise cause the projected image to appear to move. In this way, unwanted movement of the projected image caused by vibration is effectively cancelled-out. Alternative arrangements of components of the system are disclosed. A method for vibration cancellation in a HUD device is also provided.

Vibration compensating head-up display

A display device for a motor vehicle includes: a projection module fix generating an image for a projection in a direction of gaze of a user of the display device along an optical path; a reflection and/or display element; a support element for the reflection and/or display element; and a holding element, configured such that the reflection and/or display element is held, without deformation of the reflection and/or display element, between the support element and the holding element and in a fixed position relative to the support element.

Display device for motor vehicle

A display unit for mounting in a vehicle may include an image generator, a display member, and a light source. The display member may be configured to move from a non-operational position to an operational position such that the display member is positioned to reflect light from the image generator in the operational position. The display member also includes an edge configured to refract light and/or otherwise be illuminated. The light source may be configured to emit light to illuminate at least a portion of the edge of the display member. In some implementations, the light source may move when the display member is moved from the non-operational position to the operational position. In other implementations, the light source may be stationary. The display unit may also include a light guide to guide the light emitted by the light source to illuminate the edge.

The projector further includes a global radiator for cooling the projector. The projector is arranged adjacent to a kinematic device. The global radiator includes at least partially a material having a thermal conductivity greater than 100 W/(mK).

An instrument panel for a motor vehicle includes: a display area including a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The first portion is located in a first main plane of extension. The second portion is located in a second main plane of extension. The second main plane of extension is positioned relative to the first main plane of extension with respect to a user of the instrument panel such that the second portion of the display area is positioned further from a normal position of the eyes of the user relative to the first portion of the display area. The instrument panel further includes an optical conductor, the optical conductor including a first part and a second part. At least part of the second portion and/or at least part of the third portion of the display area is illuminated by the second part of the optical conductor.

A dashboard for automobiles includes at least one display area including a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is located in a first extension plane while the second portion is located in a second extension plane. The second extension plane is parallel to the first extension plane and is offset relative to the first extension plane in the direction of the user of the dashboard such that the second portion forms a diaphragm opening at least partially around the first portion, and the first portion is located in a central area of the dashboard. The dashboard includes a light source, and the display area comprises a frame member for defining the first portion, wherein the light source comprises a first portion for backlighting the first portion, as well as a second portion in which the light source extends beyond the first portion of the display area.
